5.0 out of 5 stars10/5 stars!! Crowd pleaser, favourite toy!

This is my daughter's favourite toy. We bought them for her at 10 months old, she is nearly 14 months now & it is still the first toy she rushes to. They are definitely worth the buy! I even ended up buying some for my niece of the same age & she adores them just as much. Could not speak more highly of them!
The toy eggs are as described. They keep my 10-month-old entertained for quite a bit before she leaves them behind. However, very disappointed to have been given a damaged box. The top appears to have a spot that has melted. It's not something you can clean or wipe away. Couldn't be bothered to return as we were taking this along for a trip.
Although these are fun to play with they are extremely dangerous. When I read the prioduct details it said numerous times that they were for 6 months and over. They are not!! The manufacturer's recommended age is 12 months and over and even then you must be extremely careful with them. Because of the shape of the egg tops, if a child gets one in his/her mouth they cannot remove it or spit it out and it's also difficult for a parent to remove from the child's mouth if it's facing inwards!! Very dangerous!!
The sound? Yeah non existent. It’s an extremely faint squeak. In fact the the clacking of the plastic is louder making the squeak non existent. It says it’s for kids that are 6m+. I’d have said 18m+. As the screws and holes in the bottom of each egg is very distracting for younger kids. Oh and the egg tray ain’t easy to open for a three year old. Let alone 1-2yr olds. The positives are it seems durable. But the colours painted on the egg shell won’t last long.
Why does this have so many five star reviews? This was disappointing but could so easily be a better toy. The chicks do not chirp, they merely make a small creaky sound and they are all the same. It would be so much better if each one made a different note or in fact any decent sound at all. The tops are interchangeable so it doesn’t matter which top goes on which bottom so there is not a sorting element. Definitely a case of could do better and there are many better toys out there.
This is a clever concept and at less than £5:00 from Tomy, seems good value. Each egg only sits in its own space and there is a different shape on the base of each that has to be matched. The "face" on the removable bit of shell can be colour matched to the chick inside. However, any shell top will fit any chick so matching is purely on colour.
The six chicks are supposed to cheep when you press them. Only one of ours does. Some of the others are silent and a couple have a spring which creaks. Maybe this is why it's so cheap.
All eggs have the same squeek! All eggs have the same shells apart from a shape at the bottom to help them fit in the egg box. The have different colours to co-ordinate the egg and shell! The squeek is low and boring! The nicest part of this was the egg box! I bought this for a little over £3 but anymore and I wouldn't be happy! If you want something like this buy a more expensive set! I wish I had!
I know people rave about these eggs but both me and my son just don't see the attraction. It's a plastic toy that squeaks, all 6 make the same sound and other than a different shape on the bottom and different colours that's all they do, squeak. Very expensive for what they are and I'm glad I got them on a daily deal as i would never pay full price for them
