As soon as my boyfriend saw this thing out of the box, he recognized it as the same make/model as his brother's safe. He showed me how to break into this safe in under 2 seconds. It is quite alarming! I'll post a video clip with this review.
Absolute POS. I purchased this to store handguns. The thing about guns is that you want to be able to get to them when you need them. So I was shocked when out of nowhere my passcode would display a green light and the safe wouldn't unlock. Try again, same green light and it still won't unlock. Green still means go correct. So let's try the key. That doesn't work either. Maybe the crowbar will work. 2 minutes later the I have access to my valuables and a mangled tin can that once loosely resembled a safe. No wonder it broke this think was flimsy as hell. So here I am writing two reviews 1 star for this safe and 5 stars for the crowbar.
Never needed super security so I was ok with this small safe. Just basic documents and a couple of watches. Have had this safe just under 2 years and it always performed as expected. Changed the batteries when needed. Recently the batteries died so I changed them out with brand new AA batteries and nothing. Still didn't work. After closer inspection I see that the battery contacts have corroded to the point of the lock no longer working.
I would thing this product would last longer than that. No more electronic combinations for me.
I bought this to safe guard my narcotic pain killers but after having it for a while I notice that they had started coming up missing and then they were completely taken and when I confronted the person that took them he said he'd figured out how to get the safe open by simply hitting it hard enough on the one side and the safe door would pop open. Great safe how no one wants to safe guard anything in it. Great firebox I guess but that hasn't been tested by me yet.
I have this exact safe and I would’ve given it a raving review! However, I just noticed that if the batteries go out on the keypad, the keys that came with it to open it manually, do NOT work. So, if my batteries ever go out, I have no way of accessing my safe.
