Purchased this product in the hopes of getting a value and quality for a gaming headset. What followed, however, was nothing short of disappointment and a replacement of original headset and eventual full return and refund. After initially buying the Steelseries 3H USB, I noticed one of the buttons on the external soundcard was sticking, didn't have a spring to it. Suspicious, I plugged it in immediately to test it out. Within 45-60 seconds of use, both input and output would cut out and the soundcard would fail. Plugging it back in would generate errors. Repeated this step for a few cycles before deciding to troubleshoot it with the help of the internet. After an hour, the best conclusion that forums and troubleshooting guides could provide was that the Headset was not compatible with Windows7. After plugging it into my Windows Vista machine and encountering the exact same result, I decided to exchange the defective product for a new one. Amazon was quick and efficient in sending me a new headset. This one worked out of the box for about 5-6 days. The other reviews which indicate the lack of comfort for this headset do have a point, but there is a point to which you can become familiar/comfortable. Unfortunately, after these few days came the same result: input and output from the Headset would completely cut out. Have returned second product for a full refund and would never purchase a headset from Steelseries again. I have purchased other Steelseries products (mouse) and have had no problems to date, but this headset is lacking in quality and is simply poorly manufactured.
Like most of the people who have left a review before me, the product is definitely youth sized and not fit for an adult. Now, I was willing to deal with that but the item was defective upon delivery. There is no sound coming out of the left ear after connecting it to several electronics. I would not recommend purchasing this.
Second of these exact headsets I've owned, purchased because my son has a smaller head than an adult and this headset is perfectly sized for youth.
This one lasted two weeks before the left ear speaker quit completely. I disassembled it, and the speaker wires are hair thin, and poorly soldered in place. This one seems to have broken from poor winding around the screw posts in the headset frame rather from simple use.
The first one had similar issues with one speaker not working.
Not going to ever buy one of these again, but now I don't know where to look for headsets with microphones designed to be comfortable for youth.
These headphone continually malfunction, particularly with discord. For being a gaming headset, SteelSeries should really work on making their products work with commonly used software. Would not recommend, and will not buy SteelSeries again.
Like everyone else on here has said it hurts your head and ears while wearing it! That is a total deal breaker and it has NO redeeming qualities. The sound is not great. The mic gets stuck inside of the retracting device in the ear phone and the sound is bad. Junked this thing and ended up just spending a few extra dollars on the new GameCom head set and never looked back. Dont buy.
Sorry but these are just terrible sound as well as terrible fit. I get that some people need small headsets to travel with but if you are using these as your main gaming headset, look elsewhere. They sit on your ear, not around them. The strap that is on the crown of your head isn't padded. Its just like a plastic that is suspended from one side to the other. I can't really think of a pro other than the fact that they fold up small.
I would suggest Plantronics, Logitech, Corsair, Creative, etc. over this any and every day.
They should put a soda can in these pictures to show how small it is. My big head broke one of the top cross bars in less than a week. Bit it still works just has a lose wire across the top of my head.
headsets, head phones, and mice are probably the only computer products you should buy from a brick and mortar retailer, just to check fit.
Good sound, good microphone. Works well with a small head person.
