I bought this item to replace a P2 that I have had for a couple of years. I was horriified to see that the construction had been cheapened considerably. The thread and body of the battery cover are now plastic...with a metal cover externally. The battery contacts are now tinned strips of metal instead of the coil gold plated spring. There is now no o-ring sealing the battery cover. I note that the packaging now says 'splash proof' not 'water resistant'.
The new pull focus system feels cheap and doest stay where you set it when you put it in your pocket.
Also hairs and dust are present on the reverse of the lens. Not important but lets you know how much care has gone into it.
i get around 1.5hrs on a fresh rechargable 800mAh battery with this little torch. I use it so as to not waken the wench when I get into bed because she has an obsession with turning off the bedside lamp.
Great flawless white circle beam. It also attracts the attention of my little cat too which kinda defeats the purpose of the wife turning off the light in the first place =P

However, upon a thorough inspection I've noticed some tiny scratches and dust particles within the lense as you see in the images I've attached. Although it didn't reduce the light's performance, this is not what any buyer expect.

At first i thought this was a good buy as i have another larger torch up the range and that version is high quality. However the first time i went to use this torch outside the switch failed jamming in and it would no longer turn off. Not impressed by that.
Edit. Update. Credit where its due. I did rate this torch one star as the switch failed but having contacted Ledlenser they sent a new switch next day. With new press switch fitted the torch is working again. shame it failed but 10/10 for service.
I use a torch every day for my job and have purchased loads of cheap Chinese torches but they really don't last long. Having had a read I found Ledlenser had a great reputation so purchased the P2. Im a Prison Officer and use this when doing the roll checks, it's absolutely brilliant, it's amazingly bright, robust and the battery lasts ages. Great product and a 3 year warranty when registered.
This is the best (metal) torch of its kind I've come across; great heft, powerful beam and convenient size for belt or pocket. German -made, it will be useful for a special trip, that will be demanding. So sturdy, I had some trouble getting the push on clip to fit. It came with a seven year warranty, requiring registration, which so far has proved difficult as the link supplied gave a "did not match" message, so am working with customer support to rectify. If you choose this torch, I do not think you will be disappointed; quality product.
Nice small lightweight torch, uses on 1 aaa battery, and comes with a key ring attachment. This is fine around the car, or house but no match for the more powerful and expensive larger torches. For the price its fine and fulfils its requirements, the “spot to flood” adjustment does work, but all it appears to drop, it go from a focused beam (sharp edges) to a blurred edges beam. I cannot see any benefit, so use it on spot. It does however have a nice light and will be suitable for most, just don’t expect it to be a powerful beam.
At first i thought that 16lumens is not much, but the lens make is it like at least 3x that output so its very bright and has a very good battery life of 7hours from 1x AAA battery. Compared it to my 60lumen ThruNite TiS and the output is very close, the TiS is just a little bit brighter with better flood. 1 AAA battery inside the torch and one extra, belt pouch, pocket clip and a lanyard are included in the clamshell pack. The focusing works great and in this price range its rather unique to have focus on such a quality torch. I don't know how waterproof it is, but it certainly is splash proof. Very good compact size in pocket feels like carrying a small marker pen. Perfect EDC and outdoors torch for a very reasonable price. Same as the P3 BM, but the P2 is more compact as it is same wide on both ends, have both but i prefer to carry the P2
The pouch is very good and even a 2 layer Victorinox swiss army knife like the Spartan or Compact fit in nicely.
Wanted to take one star off as both batteries are outdated, full capacity, but its not recommended to use outdated batteries in high drain devices, but i have plenty spare ones so its not a big deal for me.
Brilliant little torch sits snugly in my leatherman leather pouch and you'd never know it was there. Very bright for a single AAA, and it's lightweight enough that it can be mounted on the peak of my cap (with the clip fitted upsidedown) and works perfectly as a head torch substitute! The belt pouch included is very good quality too! Extremely happy with my purchase, and my ongoing search for a decent mini torch is finally over!
After trying all sorts of cheap torches I've decided to get something of better quality. I bought Ledlenser as theirs torches were gathering some good reviews. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. The switch on the torch is very inconsistent, I have to press it several times to get it on. Often the light goes off itself for no reason. I am rather disappointed to say the least, cheap torches from aldi are made way better..
