This is very handy set, all in one place and stored in a handy cover but I have a mixed feelings toward some of the items in this set. The hair brush is not that soft, would not use on a newborn, scissors are bulky, tooth brush is hard and don't think I will use it at all. The nasal aspirator is completely not useful, its very big and will not fit in my baby's nostrils until she is probably 12 months old, the file nails are not filing baby's soft nails, overal I only like the clippers, thermometer and comb but consider price is too high for just 3 useful items.
What I like with the scissors is they bend slightly so you don't have to worry about catching the fingers and it makes the nails more rounded so less faffing. Picture of the scissors to show the bend!
Trick is to do it with a sleeping or sleepy baby! Less objection then and relaxed hands!
The little comb is great with the rounded tips also.
With the tooth brush we used it after applying some scalp oil to remove cradle cap! He doesn’t need a tooth brush yet as he’s a month old and we didn’t want to make the actual soft brush in this kit oily so the tooth brush came in handy to gently take away the flakes! He seemed to enjoy it too!
All in all a great starter kit, saves searching around for all the separate pieces!
Tommee Tippee is a great brand; I have several products from them, all very sound and well done. But this was a HUGE disappointment because it is so simple that they have to make an effort to go so wrong. The nail trim is terrible, couldn't cut my baby's nail, not sharp enough for the thin nails that a baby have. I ended up using my nail trim. The Thermometer is not working at all, always displaying 35.5 degrees with everyone that I tested it. The nasal aspirator is also not good, hard to control the intensity of the suck. Summary: Cheap! Not the usual Tommee Tippee quality. Unfortunately, I've thrown away the box and manual and can't send it back, because I blindly trusted the brand and never expected something so cheap.
Not sure about this product, its seems cheap. Everthing is plastic. The case is lovely but when I opened it I thought, “Oh, okay....” the booger collector looks too big for any babies nostrals the brush isnt particularly soft and the comb is like a dolls comb. The tooth brush is also a tad strange. But The nail kit and themometor will come in handy.
Overall it will be handy to have I suppose, but its not the same as its advertised.
Again, tommee tippee knows the needs of parents perfectly. This is the perfect little bag of essentials, great for travelling with infants and toddlers and taking care of their grooming and care needs. It's got all the necessary little items, to clip their nails, brush soft baby hair, clear their clogged up little sinuses and measure their temperature. It's perfect to follow up bathtimes and to take along on trips and travels. For the amount of use this little bag of tricks sees, it's definitely value for your money.
I bought this for my new grandson. Well, a little add on gift for his parents I suppose. It has all those little important things you need with a new baby and I love the fact that they are all there in a lovely little case. The nail clippers are so important in those first couple of weeks, when they keep scratching their own face and the thermometer is a must with all babies and children. You can use this one under the arm, which is easier with a baby. The temperature is usually 1degree less under the arm so you need to add one on to find a more accurate temperature. All in all a great gift set that anyone would love.
I brought this product as part of my must have for my newborn. I like the fact that all these little individual items are kept together in a pouch, which makes it easier to take with you if you are traveling. However, I didn't really use all of the items, e.g scissors, comb, emery boards and the thermometer (I prefered using my own ear thermometer as it was a lot quicker to get a reading). For some people, they may find it's much cheaper to purchase the individual items that they would use and put together their own kit but as a first time mum, I saw that this ticked everything off my list that I should have, and also that it was the brand Tommee Tippee that persuaded me to purchase it.
We bought this as first time parents. Everything is fine but I wouldn’t buy again or reccomended to other parents. The Hairbrush is nice and gentle but a bit Plasticky, the nail cutters are ok but we found that they weren’t sharp enough and actually bought a small high quality pair which is way more effective, the nose sucker is way too big for a newborn and not that great later on (we ended up buying the Braun electric one after trying various other solutions). The comb is just a comb. We haven’t used the scissors. The only thing of any use is the thermometer, you can just buy one from a pharmacy as save the money and in end we ended up getting a forehead one when our daughter was 9 months because she wouldn’t stay still long enough to check her under the arm. So all in all a nice idea but a waste of money as we either didn’t use things or we bought better alternatives down the line.
This was a gift a bought for my grandson whos only 5 days old its in a perfect case for travelling i test oot the temperature gauge and its perfect scissors and clippers are well made i tried them out on my 3 year old nephew who hates getting his nails cut but liked the clippers a very handy set and it was only £10 and a couple of pence well worth the money my daughter is a first time mother and she knows how to check her childs temperture if ever needed i even bought the full set of tomee tipee sterillizer and bottle warmer thats a great set also
Bought this before baby was born and thought "This is an essential buy surely!". Nope. Why? Because probably the two most important bits of it don't really work very well. The thermometer is extremely slow to give a result! With a wriggly baby this is less than ideal. Also it was showing 1 degree less than another thermometer I have at home. This is dangerous, because it was showing 37.5 when in fact my baby's temperature was 38.5, which is fever. I will trust my other thermometer as my baby wasn't feeling well, just had his jabs, it was expected to have a high temperature. So the thermometer is rubbish. Then the nose suction device... does not work. I have tried it a few times. It doesn't work. You're better off with one of those with a little tube in. Then the hair brush and hair comb are a bit pointless in the beginning. Or if your baby is really hairy initially, you're better off waiting to see if a comb or a brush is more suitable. So all this brings the value of this pack down... The nail clipper works as does the scissors but also you need to see which one you prefer for tiny baby fingers. So I would say buy what you need separately. 3 months with my baby, I would probably have bought the scissors from Tommee Tippee. I don't need anything for his hair yet, the thermometer I would go with another brand, as well as the nose suction thing. He doesn't have teeth so not using a toothbrush yet... You get the point.
