5.0 out of 5 stars An Enjoyable First Novel In A Murder Mystery Series.

Why five stars? Because when you find a cozy murder that makes you chuckle with the descriptions of the characters and their dialog, you are left with a special feeling, one of happiness and an appreciation of a well-crafted murder mystery.

Brenna has moved out of Boston to her friends small town in Massachusetts. Brenna has found housing in a rural area run by an artist who has dropped out of the art scene, Nate. They've become casual friends but when the local Mayor seems to loose his grip on the community development scene, murder occurs. Brenna feels compelled to stop Nate's becoming the town's accused. Being two outsiders, it is up to Brenna and her friends to save the day and find the true killer quickly.

I truly enjoyed reading this tale and look forward to reading the next installment in Brenna's life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jenn McKinlay by any name is a wonderful author.

I was delighted to learn that Jenn McKinlay has two cozy mystery series that she has written under other names. While Stuck on Murder was not a great as the Library Lover Mysteries, I still loved it and thought it was better than many cozy mysteries that I have greatly enjoyed. This book was published about 10 years ago but I found nothing that made me feel that it was out of step with today. It looks like the romantic triangles that were popular a while back may come into play but that was only hinted at so time and more reading will determine how that comes out. I will be reading more books in this short series.

I love Jenn McKinlay's cozy mystery series books so took a chance to order/read her series written under Lucy Lawrence. I enjoyed very much ... quick reads and characters are great. Passed books on to a couple of friends and they also enjoyed.

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting first book

I had never read a book by this author under this name and I was surprised to find that it is an early work by Jenn McKinley. The book managed to keep me focused and entertained, despite some misspellings and some typos that got missed with the final proofing. The heroine seems to be a focused young lady with a bit of a past. The two potential suitors for her add a bit of zest to the storyline. I’m definitely going to read Book 2 to see how things turn out with Brenna and the two young men vying for her attention.

4.0 out of 5 stars Charming and Crafty!

Big city girl escapes her past by moving to an idyllic New England small town only to find that small town jealousies can be just as dangerous as urban life. Brenna Miller is the plucky heroine of this new series unraveling the mystery and mayhem amid the quirky inhabitants of Morse Point. The decoupage theme centers around Vintage Papers, the fine paper shop where Brenna works with her former college roommate. It's a charming page-turner plot with a great setting, appealing characters, decoupage tips/tricks, plus the author's special blend of snarky fun humor!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!

This is the first cozy mystery I read that was written by Jenn McKinlay (aka Lucy Lawrence). As I understand it, she cut her teeth on the decoupage mysteries before moving onto her other series. She did an excellent job with this book. It had all the requisite elements for a cozy & is a thoroughly enjoyable book.

This was a most enjoyable rainy day read. It combined the essential elements of a good mystery with the hint of a romance novel (not the sappy type) and not the boy meets girl and BAM. The series has great promise as an especially good one. You do not need to be concerned about the decoupage sections as a hindrance to the unfolding of a great mystery. I recommend it.

I liked this cozy a lot. As a matter of fact, as I write this, I have read all of them in this series. I don't want to confuse the details from the one to the other. I didn't care much about the deoupage, but i liked the characters & enjoyed the mystery. Good read!

I loved this book. I'm all about characters that make me smile and situations that make me laugh out loud. Lucy Lawrence did it all. I didn't want the book to end and can't wait for her next one. She's one funny author and she tells a great tale.
