Let's be honest - I totally bought this due to the name. Who doesn't find Captain Calamari a great name? While not my daughter's favourite toy, she does enjoy playing (and talking!) to it. The tentacles in particular are ideal for small hands, and the noises that other parts of the toy make manage to keep her attention for a little while.
The product itself is wonderful, with a variety of textures and interactive sections, one small issue though, my 4 month old is a bidding naturalist and mentioned to me that the name was somewhat incorrect. Two issues, one to name a toy after a food product only insights hunger and distracts my young in from his breast milk, angrily decreeing that he will only ingest calamari now, but also, it’s got 8 legs, not 6 like calamari would suggest, as Bertie said it would be way more apt to cal the toy captain cephalopod. Thanks, he loves it
got this whilst pregnant n my friend thought it twas ugly
up until 4 months old my daughter ignored all toys n soothers
this toy was on her bed n 1 day i saw her holding it out of every other toy n the next thing i know, the rings were in her mouth. so at the moment my daughter uses it as a teether and an excellent 1 at that
Lamaze do wonderful children's toys and this is another one. It makes all the right noises, and hits all the right buttons for sensory interaction with your child its just wonderful. Thank you Lamaze for making playing with your child so much fun!
This is the 4th Lamaze toy I have bought to give to a new-born baby as a present. Once they're a few week old, they start to interact. All parents have said how lovely these are, and children will play with them for a number of years!
