I have been a Hannity listener for a long time and I TIVO his program on FOX every evening so I can review it the following day. Maybe I am a victim of all the hype about this book and Sean's promise to provide a blueprint for "Conservative Victory". I really expected some well thought out strategy that would tell Conservatives where we should go from here. However, a major portion of the book recaps recent events leading up to Obama's elections and what has transpired in DC up to a point just before the passing of health care reform. This would be good information for someone who has not been following Sean for the last year or so. As I read about Reverend Wright, ACORN, Saul Alinsky, William Ayers, Anita Dunn and Van Jones, I kept hoping I would turn the page and get into new information.
Sean goes on to talk about the Republican party, the Contract with America and where the Republicans have gone wrong. And, as I anticipated, a portion of the book is devoted to Ronald Reagan. I am as big of admirer of President Reagan as Sean, and I always enjoy reading about him. Finally, after 185 of 231 pages, "Moving Forward - Reclaiming the Future".
The Strategy is, avoid the temptation to go the "ThirdParty" route and work thru the Republican Party. Then Sean discusses 12 fundamental beliefs Conservatives, (really the Republican Party) should focus on to have success in the 2010 and 2012 elections. Unfortunately, as a Conservative citizen, there is not much help contained in this book as to how individual conservatives can effect change in the Republican Party, which Sean admits has members who do not currently subscribe to this agenda. I was very disappointed.
