Very small and thin, lightweight, easy to hold. Packing profile is tiny. Doesn't feel as flimsy as some say, in my opinion, but the cover does fall right off. Probably the smallest tool of its kind on the market without going to something manually powered.
The rotary (nose) hair trimmer attachment works as well as any, seems to cut fairly close, sounds smooth.
Reliance on an easily replaced AAA battery instead of an internal rechargeable means the product should be less disposable. I use an Energizer Ultimate Lithium which shaves off a little more weight and seems to last forever. It will also ensure the motor is less likely to hang up on tough hairs.
The gears of the precision hair trimmer attachment make a ghastly sound that would make an engineer cringe, but it trims very closely without nicking unless you're really ham-fisted, and aside of being useful for moustaches and so on, it can snake into little corners to reach where the rotary attachment fails.
I like it but knocked a star off because of that darn cover.
This is a great little groomer. It's compact (about the size of a sharpie), so it's easy to handle and store. I suggest using a rechargeable battery. The only problem that I've had was cleaning the interior and re-lubing the gears and blade. There needs to be a diagram of the parts so you'll know what to expect when you open it for maintenance. I popped it open and dropped a few small parts that took forever to find. I also didn't get to see the original layout, so it took a minute to get it working properly again. I searched the web, but couldn't find a simple diagram that should have been included w/ the product.
After a couple of weeks trying it out I've found it to be a capable little trimmer. It is very light weight and uses a single AAA battery. This leaves it a little weak on power, but one really wouldn't expect to use this type of a trimmer for anything but the lightest jobs. It worked great round the face - trimming beard edges and around ears and eyebrows with ease and without any pulling or tugging on the hair. Very painless trim. The nose hair attachment was not so effective, catching only the largest hairs and requiring follow-up with the regular trimmer. Material is light and it feels little unsubstantial, but in my time so far it has proven to be up to the job. Time will tell.
I purchased this trimmer due to the design mainly, the almost pen like, sleek design (plus its Wahl, which I guess carries a certain reputation). Other trimmers I looked at seemed more bulky. The trimer its-self looks the business and has a nice colour, also does the job fairly well. I did find an issue with one of the heads (the comb) when attached to the shaver, it was too snug and stopped the blades/teeth from moving properly, restricted them. This is a design flaw to some extent. However I mainly purchased this for the nostril trimmer head, so... Over all the design is great, I like the sleekness but perhaps the performances was not exactly what I was expecting for a Wahl product? I would recommend this product as the bottom line is it does the job, and looks good, but would potentially highlight my thoughts on how I expected a possibly higher performing product.
