Where has this been all my life? I never knew these existed until I did a search for scope cover here. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this design. I lose 1-2 scope covers a year x 4 rifles. This thing is exactly what I needed. It completely protects the entire scope, better than any other I have tried. It easily and completely moves out of the way when you need the scope. Seems very durable so I don't foresee any problems there and it will stay one the scope when needed or not, never to be left alone in a field. I'd give it 8 stars if I could. I will be buying one for each rifle, no doubt.
This cover is far superior to the usual plastic covers on elastic that come with most rifles. I really don't like taking the plastic covers into the field because it is a pain to take it off and put back on...and they have to be put to the side because they are not attached to the rifle. This cover slips on and off easily, and they stay connected to the rifle at all times...you will be completely unable to forget these in the tree stand! This cover does a great job of protecting the scope even better than the plastic covers (which only protect the from and back, and not the body of the scope).
Works great. Everyone should know that this is actually 2 pieces of stretchy material. One piece slips over the front end, the other from the rear end. The part in the photo looks like it has a handle, that does not open up. You slip the entire piece up and it stays on the scope. I thought this was a one piece cover when I ordered it, but I am pleased with what I got.
I really like the idea and my covers have survived one hunting season so far. One thing that I noticed pretty early on with mine is that the fabric and foam were starting to fray near the stress points in the design. I ended up sewing around the edges and it's holding up better now.
