To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The majority of locking grip pliers are now manufactured in either China (PRC) or Taiwan (ROC). I still own a few vintage Petersen models that were made in USA. This Knipex model is made in Germany and costs more than most other imports but I feel it's well worth it.
The nose is slim and tapered enough for a good fit in tight places and once properly adjusted the pliers' grip is very secure. The jaw teeth are ample and the pliers have good working hand feel without excess bulk or weight. With regard to design, construction and performance, I believe they are on a par with the original pre-Irwin Petersen Vise Grip model. Slightly different in a few ways than the venerable Petersen but just as strong and effective. Good value.
