The good is that you can still get these AM/FMheadphone radios - they used to be plentiful from several manufacturers, but are now rare as hens' teeth.
The bad: I had a previous model of these that ran on a single AAA battery and had pretty good battery life. This unit uses 2 x AAA batteries and seems to have much shorter battery life. Still, batteries are cheap and the convenience is great.
Bought these 4 months ago after getting fed up with trailing wires and dodgy connections on my last system and was quite pleased with my purchase. Sound on FM is very good (especially the stereo option) but i mainly bought them for the sports stations on AM - 5Live reception is good but my main disappointment is Talksport which is poor - you struggle to pick it up. It must be the heaphones because i Can pick it up perfectly well on every radio in the house electric or battery. Also they can be quite tight when used for quite a while. First time i wore them i sat in the garden for ages and they made my ears sore. But hey thats probably me (I'd moan if they were loose and kept falling off).
First off, i wanted these for workshop use. I had a pair of Peltors for many years but they finally died so i replaced them with a new pair. Well, the latest version of them is ok but no way worth over £60, the quality has dropped significantly so i returned them. So i bought these. They're ok, the tuner is so sensitive it's not easy to tune into another station quickly. At 12.00 i have to get onto Radio 4 asap before i hear the voice of Jeremy ''did i mention i went to uni'' Vine and go into convulsions. This can take several seconds. Also they're not all that comfortable. Not much else to say other than for £20 they're ok. Nothing more than that though.
the description for these radio headphones is wrong in the description it says radio works on 1 aa battery it does not it operates on 1 aaa battery the bass boost button is very poor even when this is on it still sounds very cheap and tinny in fact i am thinking of sending them back very dissapointed by them
Have now used this headset radio a few times. Overall I am very pleased. I bought it to replace one I had had for years and which eventually 'died'. This set is much lighter and performs quite well. Reception is not perfect but is acceptable and not really a problem. A little patience needed when tuning, but I would definitely recommend this product which is very reasonably priced.
bought as a gift for my father, he wears them constantly, & have stood up to all the abuse he has given them, the full size headphone type only lasted a few months before bits started snapping, a brilliant buy & with no wires to tangle extremely practical
FM reception a little hissy at times but probably due to location. Can hear adequately and serves its purpose well for my wife who sleeps fitfully and finds the accompaniment of a radio eases her back to sleep!
