To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
All the reviews here, both good and bad, are correct. The concealers are bulky and if you're wearing something thin that you want to lay flat against your shoulder, this is not the product for you. Fortunately (??) I have big heavy boobs and it makes the bra strap dig into my shoulder and therefore the concealer kinda sits down in that groove on top of the strap, making it more or less level with the rest of my shoulder. I also had an issue with my purse handle (over my shoulder) pushing down on top of it and it unfastened the safety pin part of it. Otherwise, these are amazing and I'm wearing them with a loose blouse today that I've almost put in the Goodwill pile a thousand times because it slips either forward (revealing the goods) or backward (revealing stomach) without wanting to tear it off my body and throw it in a trash can because **it's stayed in exact place**. I've also gotten compliments on this top today and never have before so there is something to be said about it correcting the weird fit of some dresses and tops and making them drape correctly.
These devices solved the problem of my bra straps showing out a rather wide neck top...not exactly boat-neck, but wide enough to show straps. They are a bit of a challenge to apply and also, a bit bulky, but the problem I had is basically taken care of and they were a bargain compared to what I have paid my seamstress in the past to apply the little fabric strips that have the teeny snap inside. I would purchase them again and for the reasons stated, I would recommend to others.
Pros: Definitely does the job and keeps the bra straps hidden under the clothes. Should fit most bras with more or less average bra strap sizes. Plastic seems pretty sturdy and durable. Pinkish color makes them easier to hide. In contrast with the ones that need to be sewed to the clothes, these can be reused.
Cons: Can cause minor discomfort if you wear a seatbelt or carry a bag on your shoulder, or anything that puts pressure on the concealers (didn't bother me too much, but can be a deal-breaker for some); they are made of plastic and metal after all. It may be harder to hide them if the fabric is very thin or has no seams on the shoulders.
I am extremely large busted and also have narrow shoulders. That means all bras available in my size have straps closer in than many (any wider apart they'd slide off my shoulders anyway). Almost every top I own has a neckline that show my straps, and they're wide, not dainty, lacey straps like the pretty little bras have that most women get to wear! These are so much easier and they stay in place. I don't have to use a ton of fashion tape along with them, like I do with those little "ribbon/snap" styles. I do have some that you sew in. They look very feasible/functional, but I hate to sew so I haven't gotten around to them yet. Anyway, the only reason I gave these a four is because they can press into your shoulders. This usually isn't an issue for me as I also need strap pads and I can just be sure to tuck one end of the pad under the strap tamer. I'll be buying these wherever I can find them until I can afford reduction surgery!
This is what I try to do with safety pins only easier to attach the bra strap. It's great. It does not work as well on thicker bra straps so be aware of that and a thin material top can show a little bump where the pin is attached. But kudos on this!
I bought these to use in a dress purchased for a wedding. The dress had a larger neck opening and my bra straps showed. I used the clips to hold my bra straps out a little bit wider on my shoulder. They did the trick. And I was able to do a lot of dancing, even raising my arms many times. My only comment is that I could feel the hard plastic, but the feeling was not uncomfortable, just "there". I was able to forget about them.
These work. They have a safety pin on one side that pins into the shoulder seam. The other side has a textured clip that holds the bra strap. It held the straps in place all day. The only downside is that the clip side digs into your shoulder. I think if you wore them a lot your shoulder would get used to it, but for now, it's a bit uncomfortable.
