If you are serious about your health and moving to a vegetarian or vegan diet, this book is great. Chef AJ has two more books on the market since this one, but it is still a great distillation of AJ's philosophy and practical approach to diet and good health. You have to start somewhere - this is not a bad place to begin.
I found this book to be full of great ideas about how and why to adopt a healthy plant based way of eating. I have enjoyed watching chef aj on youtube and this book along with secrets to UWL are a convenient collection of recipes and advice so two thumbs up from me!
I adopted a plant based diet for health reasons, but I also need to drop a few pounds. I’ve flirted with many dr/chef books and while all the science is sound, the one thing I never been thrilled about are the recipes. Finding chef AJ is a delight. I want to try all her recipes. I’m so pleased to,have finally found a set of recipes which will help me stick to this whole foods D plant based way of living.
I follow Chef AJ for quite some time now on YouTube and through her website and I finally got around buying her book so I have all her recipes and tips in one place. I truly have to thank Dr. John McDougall for getting my health back and when I learned that AJ prepares the food he recommends, it was no brainer for me go get her book too. And I am so glad I did.
