Lovely book as an introduction to Yoga Theory and history. Must read if you are embarking on deeper Yoga studies. I have read it several times and return to it often. The author relates and gives examples to apply and suit the modern day, without losing the essence of the sutra. The sutras are written in sanskrit, then in phonetic english. Then the explanation. An easy to read book and opens your eyes. Lots of common sense and is great to read as a reminder that we can use yoga everyday and incorporate into our lives.
This book is brilliant. It takes you all the way through the Yoga Sutras and their translations. It also helps you to pronounce the words whilst you're reading them so that you can get the most out of the information written. A must need if you're taking Yoga to the next level!
The Real Deal. If you're interested in the source of modern yoga, here it is properly and perfectly explained by a teacher invited to give the opening speech at the first ever music festival that mattered globally, the Woodstock festival at Haight Ashbury in 1967, the famous ' Summer Of Love '.
An thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating read. The commentary, is well written and makes a lot of sense. I felt that I had a deeper understanding of yoga after reading this book, so I thoroughly recommend this book to everyone that's interested in yoga.
This is a very informative and great edition for the layman. Its not too technical and you can understand all the content. Applying it on the other hand is the hard part. This is a book to read and re read for many years to come, so much good advice cant be digested all at once.
