The lock is as advertised. The mechanism is difficult to use - the combination works fine but the cable does not always rewind which is frustrating. Overall it feels like a flimsy product and I found better elsewhere.
I carry this on my bike to lock it up when I stop somewhere for coffee which I already deem to be quite a safe spot. It will stop the passing opportunist without any tools from riding off with your bike but a basic small pair of pliers can cut the wire with ease. I know, because I forgot the combination on one of these locks so cut the wire in less than 5 seconds with the pliers I carry in my cycling kit. So, its not strong but its lightweight and long enough to lock two bikes together and I bought another one to replace the one I cut off. Just be realistic about its limitations.
I wanted this to secure my skis during coffee and lunchbreaks on the mountain. yes the cable could be cut by someone prepared with wire cutters but it would be difficult to prevent that with anything lightweight and not too bulky. This easil fits on a pocket and being orange helps to identify where I left my skis.
Does what it says on the tin. I bought this to lock a plastic case for my sons warhammer figures that he wanted to take to school. The main body was a bit bigger than I was expecting but the fact that you can adjust the length is very helpful. I gave it a good pull and it doesn't pull out further when locked. I am not sure it would stand up to determined thief very long but to prevent school kids getting in should do the job.
All in all it worked and did a good job of keeping our stroller safe outside the rides while we were in Disneyland Paris BUT when we returned from one of the rides on our last day, our code suddenly would not work and the lock was stuck on our stroller wheel. As a last attempt before asking for help, we tried the standard code that the lock is set to when you receive it and that worked. Somehow it had reset itself. It did the job though, so I was pleased.
The cable part is flexible and useful for locking up buggies, in gyms where lockers don't have locks or when travelling and you want to make sure your rucksack doesn't get picked up if you leave it on the floor. The plastic casing does feel a little fragile, and I'm sure a determined thief could cut the cable (compared to a solid U lock) but it's very portable and decent enough for basic travelling security.
