The part seems to be a genuine Dyson product. That said, I’m thinking that it might be remanufactured because the clutch makes a clicking noise when the vacuum is in use. It’s annoying, but doesn’t affect the functionality of the vacuum. I’d request a replacement, but don’t really feel like tearing my vacuum back apart. Maybe I had the misfortune of receiving the Beer-30 part - who knows? At the end of the day, maybe I was expecting too much from a $28.00 item.
I was actually quite surprised that this part was around $35. My DC33 bristle brush had stopped turned and I thought it was going to be a major expense. I probably only needed the clutch belt, but I didn't want to have to reassemble the whole thing, so I bought it assembled. Probably took be about 5-10 mins to get it apart and assembled. Getting the brush back on with a new belt is a REAL pain, but once I got it set, it worked like a charm.
2005 D14 Dyson is fairly easy to use--the newer "ball" types are hard on wrist and difficult to control. Parts are difficult to find. This clutch works but was very difficult to install without custom belt tools. Had to use most of my cuss words during installation. But the beater bar now works!
For other parts not on Amazon, eBay is good place if you can find the part number.
I have had to replace the belt on my Dyson DC33 twice and to just swap the belt would be like doing brain surgery. Much easier and faster to just get this kit and swap out the whole clutch assembly. Unfortunately, the second time I did this repair, my vacuum still made all kinds of weird noises afterwards and the roller brush still wouldn't work. So I sent this back and ended up buying a different vacuum instead.
I had to return the 1t one I ordered because there was a loose bearing or bad bearing on the first one right from the start. It sounded like a metal popcorn kernel rattling around while the vacuum was running. When i received the 2nd one all was well. No rattling. Sounds like a new vacuum. A word of advise Get the Belt removal tool specifically made for dyson vacuums.
Both clutch belts were brand new. Clutch itself had some grime on the housing so it may have been previously installed. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, but the description should have said something like open box.
I was not sure if this would work. After opening up my sweeper and seeing how much the original belts had stretched I was confident that this part would bring new life back into my Dyson. Sure enough after placing the clutch into sweeper and everything back together it worked like a Champ.
My beater bar was not turning so the vacuum didn't pick up well on rugs. The new clutch/belt assembly fit well and solved the problem. However, it was difficult for me to get the clutch cover off. I watched several YouTube videos that made it seem fairly easy to get the cover off. There is a learning curve. But, now that I have done the repair, and know the process, I would do it again.
