This is a great spotting scope for its price. I use it for birdwatching. When used in good light and zoom up to 35/40x the image quality (color, contrast, resolution) is very good to excellent. Above 40x it starts to deteriorate which is to be expected. In low light and in high contrast areas you can see chromatic aberrations. While it can't compete with scopes that are 5 times more expensive it certainly is worth the money and much more. The build quality is very good - no complaints, the focus dials are smooth with good dampening too. The rotation of the zoom on the eye-piece is a bit stiff though. The included carrying pouch is a nice bonus and fits well. While the scope is not extremely light to carry I find it manageable and comfortable.
Overall - highly recommended and would definitely buy again.
It is a nice scope, for viewing objects which are 1km away, you can recognize faces at this distance. I have used the scope in the night also and it works there as well, you can not see things which are in totally dark, but if some light source is there it works well. And the most amazing part is you can do some stargazing as well from this scope, i have tried seeing moon ( you can see the craters quite clearly). I have seen Saturn with this which was quite a feat, i wasn't expecting this but i was able to see clearly the bifurcation of the ring and the planet (don't expect to see it full screen but it will give you a clear view if atmosphere is clear). This is the advantage of having a ED glass in it, though it is not free from chromatic aberration but at this cost you can bear with it. In the daylight you can get some good picture if you connect through camera or smartphone ( though you need adapter for both, otherwise difficult to get sharp photos. Overall its a great buy.
Scope is excellent, great value for the money. With my declining eyesight I can see 7mm bullet holes in targets at 400m, and with the right light at 500m. I only gave it 4 stars because of a few small discrepancies. Center clarity is excellent, edge of view sharpness declines at higher power, Soft case objective lens cover should have a snap or Velcro tab to keep it closed.Lens cover should have an attached tether, lost lens cover in 3 days. If the coarse focus knob is not held the fine focus knob turns coarse focus knob when adjusting.
What to say for Vanguard they make just what we just see in Dreams u can't believe when I saw the Scope in my hand and fix on my Tripod far away 1 kM i saw a board which was not seen by ur naked eye any thing was Thier at 1km and I was just reading on what it was on that board
Nice ergonomics and weight compared to the celestron regal ED but that is all it has over the Regal. It is just a touch less bright and from 30m away I can read about half the serial numbers off a key, with the Regal I can read all serial numbers off key. It is a nice scope but when looking at game it is a fraction less crisp. It is light weight compared to some angled 65m scopes but I sent it back and kept the celestron. If I did not do a side by side comparison I would have been happy with the endevour HD
I did a lot of research before I bought this and so far it's lived up to my expectations. I'm not a huge fan of the protective case but everything else is very good quality. I've been using it for digiscoping and it's worked very well for that.
Well made , sturdy .. used for hunting Mule deer : spotting resting deer in sage from 600-800 yds away .. didn't do a lot of low light spotting but a few experiments in the evening and it seemed good ...not a Leica but good
