So I have had this shaver for almost 3 years now. I am pretty hairy on my back and it's thick, dark hair. When I first got this shaver it worked pretty well and was fairly quick to use and do the job. I don't find the design the most ergonomic but there are many different angles you can set it at, as well as the fact that it can extend and get very long reach. But it's not exactly easy to control when it's that long.
The blades in my opinion need a complete redesign. The flat blade does not cut well, and requires many passes to get rid of the hair. Also, it does not cut the hair right to the skin level. Probably leaves about 1-2mm of stubble after you're done. The worst part is that the blade is painful against the skin...you have to apply at least a fair amount of pressure to get the hair to cut. After you're done you will have red scratches/marks on your back for at least 1/2 a day. Just tried the other head and that was even more painful and cut the skin on my back.
Not sure if my flat blade is dull now after 3 years of use, but not something I would expect from a $70 shaver. I wouldn't recommend this product.
The battery only lasted 6 months, after which a full 6 hr charge would only provide 2 - 3 minutes of run time. The Mangroomer ONLY runs on the battery. If the battery is dead, it will not work. During the 6 months the Mangroomer worked fine for me. The ergonomic handle allows you to reach all areas of your back. My next purchase was a BAKblade 2.0 which I would highly recommend over the Mangroomer.
I first bought and used this product in the US where it lasted atleast 3-4 years of good use. I recently bought the product @ Rs. 10,800/= from Amazon India a couple of months back. Now I see that it’s priced at Rs. 7,000/= which puts serious doubts in my head about the quality of the product sold.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the one that I bought lasts atleast a couple of years given I got ripped off big time with the price in any case!
The idea is good, but the shaving head doesn’t work worth a crap. It’s bad enough that the head is fairly small, but it does not remove hair very well at all. It does work if you take the time, but nowhere near as good as my regular shaver. Pretty expensive back scratcher.
I understand a lot of people have great experiences with this product, me personally I find this device to be average. The handle is not that ergonomic to hold, especially considering you will be holding a mirror with your other hand to see your back when shaving thus trying to balance two objects while shaving is not an easy task. Some hard to reach parts of your back are hard to shave with this handle design.. you almost need a hand from someone to shave your back the job done perfectly.. which defeats the purpose of why purchasing this device if someone still has to help you shave your back. Would be great if the handle could separate or become a straight line so you can use this shaver properly. The handle comes in your way, the blade could be sharper (even with powerburst on). The head doesn't seem to be that flexible when you shave (even though this is the Pro model). I wish I could give it 5 stars but truthfully this product needs improvements.
It is what it does but the blades are way too sharp and I got so much cuts during the first use. I have used phillips bodygroomer in past and it does way better job. A bit disappointed with the product.
