Great product for the money - it has all of the motion detection and scheduling features of the more expensive models yet is very reasonable in price. I used it to replace my old DVR that stopped reading my Hard Drive and it worked like a charm. Also the App is very easy to setup and use - it even allows for watching from outside my home WiFi network which is something I didn't expect from this price point. The design is also very compact and came with all the accessories (Ethernet, HDMI, mouse hard drive cable) except the hard drive which I transferred from my old DVR.
Easy setup, though it can be complex if you are a security DVR newbie. Overall I am pleased although I have not yet been able to get QCView to access it.
DOES NOT SUPPORT ONVIF!!!! Supports it for attached cameras, which is nice, but DOES NOT support it if you want to view it with ONVIF compatible software. If you want to see the cameras via a PC, you get to use their proprietary software. The MAC software.... DOES NOT WORK. You can see the recorder and the cameras (if you are lucky) via a browser, but many of the functions that seem to work in the web interface, actually don't do anything.
I was initially pleased with this DVR, especially for the price, but sadly I have to return it because it just doesn't have the features of the other DVRs I use, the real killer being the lack of ONVIF support.
I already had standard def analog cams on my house, wanted to incorporate a couple new HD cams. Bought this as a nice bridge DVR, used the 1TB Seagate drive from my old DVR, this system even formatted it for me. So now I have 3 standard analog cams, 1 HD1080 analog cam, and a Sony Ipela IP cam all running on this. It discovered the Sony IP with no issue. All the analog cams use the H.265+ compression, which is great. But the Sony IP cam only supports H.264 and chews more data, so make sure you check compatibility thoroughly if integrating any IP cam with this. Remote app setup was simple, no DDNS or static IP needed. I'm not fond of the user interface from a direct monitor, I generally just pull up the web interface on a browser and configure everything from there. Cautionary note - be VERY careful when installing the hard drive, the metal DVR enclosure is very sharp on the inside.
If you just want basic monitoring along with configurable motion detection, it's hard to beat the features you get for the price. But unfortunately if you want to configure multiple smart events like intrusion detection and line crossing, you only get to choose two cameras to do that with even though you can attach up to 8 cameras to this system. If you try to configure these features on more than two cameras then you will receive out of resource errors. Nowhere is this limitation listed - not in the manual, and not on the Annke specifications page for this system.
I got his product to replace a dvr i had before and let me tell you i am extremely happy with this product is easy to insall and the app is so user friendly thaat anyone can set tup to see the cameras when you are outside home. it was money well spend and the hardware iunstalation in easy.
