I bought this thinking it would be a great solution and it turns out, although it got the job done, it didn't do it with ease. This was easy to install around the headrest, but I was hoping for a system that would work seamlessly with my son's ipads that had that bulky toddler case on them. I didn't want to take the case on and off because that in itself is tough. I tried to connect it with the case on and it worked but I had to break a sweat to get it done. The spacing is not sufficient to take the ipad off and put it back on with out forcing the clips to snuggly fit. There is so much unused space that can allow for the velcro to cover a wider area. This would ensure bulkier items like ipads with bulky childproof cases would fit without the annoyance of force fitting this thing on. I have to get each clip on the edges of the velcro to make this workaround.
I had high hopes for this based on so many positive reviews. I like the concept, but it's not totally perfected. It will only hold our Nexus 7 tablet with the super big rubber case on it. If the case isn't on, it is loose and ends up falling down. If I try to put my phone in it, no way. It is constantly falling and my 18 month old is freaking out. I'm in search of ANOTHER new holder
Careful installing on leather, I had mines on for so long the leather stretched and created creases that don't seem to disappear. Looks like I'm going to have to replace the headrest, another thing I noticed it didn't really clamp on to my iPad pro one time I made a sharp turn and it sent the tablet flying towards the window, luckily the window was closed. I installed the case for the tablet and it clamped on much tightly.
I had another holder that broke after a year. I bought this one because it seemed simple and easy to take my kindle in/out of, and also didn't have a lot of moving parts that would break (like my last one). Unfortunately, I can't get my Kindle Fire to fit securely in it. It seems not to be thick enough for the handles...a problem as tablets are getting thinner and thinner every year. I solved this by using a washcloth behind the kindle to give it more "bulk" and that makes it fit securely. Other than that issue, it is easy to get the kindle in/out of it and seems like it will hold up for a long time.
I would love to give this a perfect score since it's the best holder I've found. However, my iPad still slid out rhe side. I rigged it up to make it stay, but this would be a perfect design if there were brackets on 4 sides
