Boring. I see what this musician is going for, but the real thing from the past is better. I'm just not convinced. Seems more like a 2016 hipster playing music he likes. I bought this CD based on A short notation in a newspaper that indicated that this guy is the darling of the younger set.
I'd suggest buying vintage recordings - it's late and I can't think of any CDs to recommend. I've always been a fan of Leon Redbone who does convince me. He's a one trick pony but it's a good pony. Someone will, no doubt, say Redbone and Stoneking don't do the same kind of music and that comparing them is like apples and oranges. No, it's more like tangerines and oranges.
I like Redbone but not Stoneking. I only played Stoneking's CD once. On the Track
