Unless my electronics degree is failing me.... this circuit does not work as a 12db/oct crossover. Its missing a capacitor on the woofer side, and nowhere in the documentation do they mention what ohm speakers to use! your only getting the tweeter filter, but ALL frequencies are going to the woofer. Meaning its only a 6db/octave on the woofer side. It will work, but not the best design.
I have purchased 8 of these for various audio projects and am pleased with them all. They definitely clean-up the signal to the tweeters, much clearer high notes, more definition in each symbol tap,not the constant metallic ringing that was present just using the supplied capacitor, such as what comes with Audiopipes #3721 tweeters. The woofer signal does not noticeably take away high notes, some speakers(pioneers)sound better to me using the woofer terminals,i couldnt tell a difference with Sony#6946 using or bypassing them and my NVX's i just bypassed this signal because they sound too good to mess with
After trying several high end passive & active crossovers throughout the years nothing really sounded right without using DSP which is kinda like cheating. So when I got some new furniture in the living room started searching for a natural sound that would compliment the room and a few failed attempts later I just decided to try these. Detail, dynamics & range was just the beginning. The separation & sound stage jumped up a couple notches and got even better when I put the speakers back in their original locations (further apart and away from the wall) She got used to it real quick after binge watching Netflix.
Worked like a charm. Actually I used this in a Micca Rb42 Center speaker that had a cracked crossover and this was a great replacement since they didn't sell extra parts. I can't tell a difference in audio quality or crossover. I'm sure if you put a measurement microphone on it, you would know but hey it's all about sound quality and it gets a thumbs up from me!
Product should have some type of 3M adhesive tape, to hold it in place so you can drill the mounting holes. It would have been nice to have two metal bolts and washers and nuts for mounting. Product sounds goods around 300 watts, when you start to get close to 400 watts you get a little distortion. I set my mid & high radio dec levels to 5 out of 10, radio audio level to 35 out of 40. Sounds good!
