Firstly I should make it clear that my issue with this cable in not of sonic origin. The cable sounds as one might expect, ie. fine. However, despite having only been used infrequently in a static indoor setup the cable has failed within a few days of twelve months very light use. From time to time one channel has begun to briefly disconnect or become silent. I suspect that although strain relief has been employed where the cable enters the plug the problem is most likely to be the failure of the internal connection (poor soldering) which can only be down to inadequate quality control at time of manufacture. To conclude, numerous other cables I currently own and use and many I have owned over the last forty plus years have proved significantly more durable than this KabelDirekt cable. I will not be purchasing a replacement from KabelDirekt as there are many alternatives available at lower cost. IMHO the current asking price of fifteen pounds (ish) for a 5m length is a little steep . . . particularly so if as has been my experience your cable fails after light use within twelve months of purchase.
Bought 10m after looking at many different aux cables. Sound suddenly stopped working last month but the return window closed in May, unfortunately. Glad I bought it on sale as I would be peeved if I had paid the full £23.
I kept tugging on the cable to a minimum due to the length of the cable making it prone to breakage - it was kept wound loosely and secured with ties, and further secured to the edge of bed frame.
Used an ohms meter to determine it was not the jack connectors but the central cable. Was not worth opening up to change the cable as I bought it at discount
This was the kind of material i wanted for the cable, but didnt last a month with little use. Won't try again and will instead look for another brand. Cable near one of the jacks is broken, so you have to wiggle the cable around to get sound on both earphones/speakers. :/
The cable is very thick, looks and feels very sturdy and sound quality to start with is great. I bought this over Christmas to use as an aux cable for my speaker system, but after just 2 weeks I noticed that the sound changes dramatically if you move the cable around. It is now at stage where unless it is held in a very specific position, the sound quality is awful: no bass, quiet, hollow sounding. Hoping the company will be able to sort me out a replacement, as it is blatantly faulty.
Aux-Kabel, was so schnell kaputt geht.
