If you're considering buying this, think twice. They did not make this product series with the requirements of the 150 inch version in mind. My screen developed a tear despite gentle handling. That is, gentle handling considering its size; the screen is mammoth so even tiny bumps can have a lot of momentum and maneuvering it into position can be hazardous, but there could be absolutely no accusation that I didn't assemble it with due care and caution. In fact, I was delicate enough that I didn't even notice whatever event caused the rip at the time it happened.
And in retrospect it should be obvious, the screen material is clearly too thin to handle ordinary treatment that can be reasonably expected during assembly. Especially considering how sharp the corners are. I'm surprised they didn't pierce my carpet. Perhaps this thickness of material is fine for their smaller versions of the screen but not for the 150 inch version.
There's more evidence as well that they didn't consider the design of the 150 inch version. The manual is generic, designed for all the different sizes for this series, which is fine, but the 150 inch version has extra support materials that seemed to be an afterthought judging by how poorly they're described in the manual.
I strongly recommend that you do not buy this unless you're willing to accept the risk that you will lose your investment to a rip in the screen.
Another complaint is that it is not designed to come apart again once its made, or if it is, it's designed very poorly to that end. The velvet border is just a roll of tape that you're instructed to stick on around the edges, and given how much stretching you have to do to get the screen in place, it's really unlikely that tape position will be remotely acceptable if you take the screen off of the frame. But even without considering the border, I wouldn't recommend ever disassembling it anyway, because of how much stretching you have to do to get the screen in place. I suspect it would start to sag, and also it's likely to develop more rips if you attempt it anyway.
So I strongly recommend you do not buy this unless you're willing to make it a permanent fixture of whatever room you initially assemble it in, unless by some miracle you think you could move this beast into another room without taking it apart first.
This product was so poorly put together it made me think the seller is forging the Elite Screen Aeon logos and selling a BS crappy rip-off. I had to physically adjust every single piece of metal from the frame to the crossbar to the black border frame because nothing fit. I mean crank down to a workbench and physically manipulate and cut to fit. Furthermore, none of the tools required for assembly were included. Thank god I have my own tools in my garage.
If you don't know how to do basic metalwork or the physical tools to cute metal, then for the love of god don't buy this product, or if you do, don't buy from this amazon seller.
The only saving grace is that the actual screen material was of the quality I wanted.
Honestly, I should have bought a pre-cut screen material and built my own frame and it would have been faster, cheaper and a hell of a lot of less frustrating.
Screen came with incorrect center connectors. I reached out several times to Elite to get replacements. I wouldn’t have minded paying for the right parts and expedited shipping. However after following their online only process, I received no follow up or correspondence. My screen sat partially assembled for weeks. I would have returned it, but had disposed of most of the boxes.I finally had to machine my own parts to make it work. Design wise, it has 1 center brace making it a bit flimsy. Really needs 2 for better rigidity. Not happy with purchase...and this is my 4th screen so have some experience in the space.
The product came and I was excited. Turns out the material is smaller than the actual frame! And it wouldn’t fit and wouldn’t stretch either. What a waste of money. I’ll be contacting someone for a refund.
