Shipping was fine (normal Amazon ship time) - cost was good - but sometimes the idea of buying in bulk is not all it's cracked up to be - when they arrived, I eagerly pulled one from the pack and slipped it into the fixture - turned it on and it worked fine, for one whole day! Then it started flickering - so I pulled it out and threw it away - put new bulb in and it works fine (for now anyway). But upon reflection, I'm now wondering how many of the remaining bulbs in the pack will actually work when called upon - ??? So this may turn out to be one of my best buys of the year, or maybe the worst! Time will tell.
The lights under our kitchen cabinets are a combination of the 21" and 12" lights. A few burned out and bought replacements. The 12" lights I bought (another brand on Amazon) said cool white and they were the exact same brightness and color of the original GE lights that were installed.
However, these 21" lights here were way brighter than the other original 21" GE lights and they were way cooler, more like 5000k (like hospital white). Not saying these are bad lights but they are not to spec in term of brightness and color
After we received these, we hired an electrician to install them in our under-counter fixtures. He recommended we use LED bulbs instead. They last much longer, and therefore, you don’t have to replace them so often. So these fluorescent lights are actually just sitting in the box they came in. We decided not to use them but used LED instead.
These bulbs probably work perfectly well in other fixtures but I found that they would not turn into place in my fixture. They would flicker as I went to turn them into place but it ends up that my original builders bulb is ever so slightly shorter than these are...like a 1/16" or 1/8" shorter (even though they are otherwise identical when it comes to what is printed on the bulb itself, shape, etc.). I hope to find something which will work in the future! :-/
They seem to work fine, but when they arrived 1 of the 6 failed to work at all. I put them all in to test them. I'm not bothering with a return for 1 bulb, just beware. Amazon's packaging was awesome, so I'm certain it wasn't damaged in shipping. IF any others fail soon, I'll be sure to update this post. Overall, 5 for the price still isn't bad.
