This corded/cordless setup seemed perfect when reading the description, but reality is a different story. My family has used Panasonic phones for several years, so we are used to the key layout. This particular model though, has a very slight but extremely dangerous change in design. The "off" button is now combined with the "menu" button above it. For people used to them being separated, it means that every time we went to turn off the phone we were inadvertently pressing the "menu" instead. Being used to covering the whole button with your thumb, it's more a matter of muscle memory at this point. I first noticed this because I was trying to call home and the line was off the hook. It continued that way for several hours and I became worried because my mom is on hospice. I ultimately had to leave work early to make sure everything was okay. I didn't realize at the time that the button was the issue. I just thought my mom had forgotten to turn it off. As this same scenario continued to happen, and not just with my mom, I finally caught on that it was an issue with the layout, especially after I did it myself! If you've never had Panasonic before and want a setup with a corded base, then this is fine, but everyone else should stay away because this is a very dangerous redesign for us!
I bought this phone because it had one corded phone and 3 cordless for placing in different rooms. It would be great but it didn’t last long. The cordless phones stopped working in less than a year and we were having trouble hearing callers on the corded one. It also took a couple of months to arrive which made it worse. What looked like a good idea didn’t turn out so well. A visitor commented that he liked the champagne color so that was good.
It looks nice and what I can figure out to work right is good. I cannot understand what the caller ID voice is saying. Some calls just dropped on first ring when I push talk. I know it will take some time but I find it frustrating to figure some of it out.
So I thought this would solve all my problems. but alas it did not. It is very smart looking but way too many "extras". Too many things to program and too many steps to do it. cannot seem to turn off the talking announcement of "who" is calling. difficult to program my phonebook, I would have looked for an easier one but difficult to find with a corded base phone. would not recommend to persons who are not electronically inclined.
Phones work great, I got these because of the baby monitor on them and that is fabulous and works great. What I do not like about these phones is the buttons. If you barely touch them they work and if you are on the phone it seems like you are always pushing the buttons. In theory this would be great but you cant pick up the phone without pushing buttons.
Good clear audio along with useful features. The light black color on the old grey background though is way out of date and and bad choice of contrast colors available, e.g., green or blue. Those automated machine voices don't get any less irritating with time either. Overall though, a good system for those who still require a landline.
The speaker needs to be louder. When anyone calls I barely can hear them when on speaker. I love the call block though. Panasonic really needs to improve the speaker volume, I am very disappointed in this product.
