Pros: These connectors mainly do their job of connecting RGB led light strips. You can connect the strips at different angles with incorrect alignment of the rgb as long as the positive cable (+) are lined up. With much fiddling and using all the connectors I got my intended setup to work.
Cons: However, one of the connectors stopped working and I had to switch it out and take out a piece of the led strip to resolve the connection. Also, to keep the positive sides aligned, you may have to use multiple connectors at one corner to turn the strip the direction you prefer. Keep in mind these plastic adapters are also tough to open without nails. Occasionally the red light in my strips goes out in one portion, but I’m not sure if this is due to the quality of the strips or the connectors.
Caution: before you start with any project you may want to measure out and see where your led strips can be cut. As you can see with my project, I could not cut the strips at the exact places I wanted and had to bend the strip or compromise in certain areas to get the desired layout.
Customer Service: They resolved any complications I had with the product and it’s use; friendly and prompt service.
Overall: I was unsure about the effectiveness of this product when paired with cheaply made led strips from China which are not actually RGB+ but more like BRG+. However, when you fiddle with these connectors enough you can get them to work just fine.
Seems like a great product until your done. I installed 4 of these connection at each corner to make a square, for tv bias lighting "square of LED's for behind the" Once done I noticed after each connection the LED's got dimmer and dimmer. I tried swapping them out with new ones. Nothing changed. I have worked in electronics and wiring for years. This product is not of quality. I hope Amazon has another solution. The obvious issue with these connectors is they are causeing to much resistance. Each connection would add enough resistance to drop the light output on my 117" long strip light. At each corner getting worse. Do not buy these if you care about even led output.
I'm sorry to say but I regret buying these. When I first got my LED strips, I mock set them up with tape to the inside of my display cabinet and it looks really nice. I quickly realized that it order to properly adhere the LED strips to the inside of the case that I'd have to navigate the 90 degree corners and that I'd need some clips like these.
I got them quickly the next day but unfortunately when I installed them, some of the connections were very hard to do properly. When you cut the LED strips on the cut lines and remove the backing (to stick the strips on the surface) it is very difficult to slide the LED strips all the way into the connector.
As a result, half of my lights were the selected colour I wanted but the other half would be a different colour than the one selected (or on some colour settings not work at all) both of which looked terrible in my display case.
I ended up removing and ordering another another set of strips and taped them up as one continuous piece my original strips were cut to be connected and no longer were long enough as one continuous strip.
Overall, these connectors were a waste of my time trying to set them up as well as the money spent on them and the replacement LED strips.
I should have just settled with taping the lights up with no connectors in the first place as I'd have been better off.
These L Shape 4 Pins connectors are great for creating right angles with your LED strips. The metal connectors are securely tight, making it difficult to slide your LED strips in them. There really is no way around this but to manually loosen the metal connector pins or make sure the ends of your strips are stiff enough to slide beneath the connectors. The L-Shape Pins included are strong and can hold its shape. Over this is not the most easy task but its doable to create flush right angles for the perfect aesthetic look on your LED strip set up!
I got these 2 connect lights under my counter and connecting them to one power source. Worked perfectly and the connection was seamless. Very easy to install. Important point to note is to follow the terminals. They are printed on the connectors but very dim. Not a big issue but something to check carefully. One thing I did notice was that lights from different brands were not connecting even though they followed the same pattern. I tried to extend my lights further but for some reason the same brand LED's lit-up when connected to their original power source while differing lights did not. Not sure if I had a bad LED or if this is a Universal thing.
5 of the 90 degree adaptors had breaks in them. 3 wouldn't display green. Checked with my meter and the line was broken. The other 2 either red or blue was effected. Also noticed some of the clips are the slightest bit off alignment to the strip lights. Sometimes causing 2 colors to short out. Others don't have the same issue. It's not a matter off alignment or adjustment the copper contactors are physically off.
I had two different strips from 2 different manufacturers. One of them fit perfectly and easily. The other strip was a bit of an issue to insert into these. I ended up pulling the pins with tweezers so it rests a bit higher, inserted the strip in then pushed down the pins. Not sure why there was an adhesion rating, these do not have adhesive with them unless you mount it with a screw.
it's really hard to slip the light's cable between the clips without damaging the copper ribbon cable. It would be better if you could pry apart the clips prior to snapping them shut, but you can't, really. They work, but after just a few months the RGB stopped connecting properly, so now after the second joint I had, the colour changes. I could have fixed it, but I super-glued the lights in place.
My recommendation if you're buying this product: be VERY gentle and have a lot of patience.
