To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I had to change some exterior BR40 flood light bulbs from my pot lights 25' up and bought this plunger based on its high rating. The instructions said to clean the light bulb first before attempting to use the plunger, which I did, and proceeded to remove the bulb at an outside temperature of -1 degrees celcius. I had to press quite hard for it to grab the bulb strongly enough to unscrew. While lowering the pole the plunger lost suction and the bulb crushed down and exploded. ...I did not attempt to use this product again! It may have been due to the cold temperature and if that is the case, they should have mentioned it in the product specs so people requiring cold weather capability avoid this product. Myself I could not wait for the Summer to change my burned out lights and I did not want to climb a 24' ladder in the middle of the winter so I went to HOME Depot and bought a HDX 6 piece light bulb changer kit for $32.98 + tax. It worked perfectly and securely.
Shamefully, my purchase history at Amazon runs hundreds of pages, but I hate to leave reviews. I have to make an exception for this product, however, as it is both perfect and ingenious. I hated balancing on some chair, trying to get stupid bulbs in and out of sockets, and this product has erased all of that. In some parallel universe, somewhere, my body lay in a heap of broken bones from trying to change light bulb, but that will not be the case in this universe, with this product around. I cannot rate a product more highly; it is simple, flawless, inexpensive, and fills a need. I tip my hat to the inventor of this product, as it is the perfect example of "build a better mouse trap...". Awesome.
P.S.-I despise the trend of fake reviews, I don't know these sellers, and I paid for this, full price, on Amazon, after finding it myself. Despite what such fake "reviewers" will say, it is straight-out dishonest to leave a positive review after receiving something from the seller. That's another story, but that ain't happening here, this review was earned by my satisfaction with the product itself.
