Not a bad mouse at all. I like the customization options. You can swap out the side grips. You can add weight. You can change the colours, or turn them off. Raise and lower the palm grip. You cannot move the palm grip forwards or backwards, though. Which is kinda disappointing if you have bigger hands like I do. This mouse is a claw grip for me. If I palm grip it, my fingers go far over the front of the mouse. And my hands are only slightly above average. But as a claw gripper, it is pretty comfortable anyways. Just depends on what you prefer. The software isn't terrible, but could be more organized/simplified. Scroll wheel clicks with each turn. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing either. Just preferences. The left and all the buttons have a nice satisfying click. Also, I've had this mouse for about a year now. I noticed that I have to click in the middle mouse button harder than I used to for it to detect. It still works, I just gotta press harder. And the sensor is pretty accurate. No complaints when playing Rainbow six or battlefield. Overall, it's not a bad deal for the price. But since I'd like to try a palm. grip, I'd probably get something else next time.
I bought the first one in January 2017 and totally loved it, I'm left-handed and there aren't that many ambidextrous mice out there that I find comfortable. This one felt amazing from the beginning, especially with the adjustable palm rest and the weights added, I use the smaller "wings". The software is slightly wonky at first and needs a bit to get used to in terms of applying changes etc. to the mouse but all in all it's decent. Anyway, the right mouse button of my first one was starting to lose contact and in games that require right mouse button to use for direction (wow...), it became a pain. I do play a lot. Anyway, I looked around, tried several mice and ended up buying this one again, it arrived today and I absolutely love it again.
After a few months of use, the mouse started to show its aging. The rubber coating on the mouse starter to wear off where I would use it the most and the mouse just started behaving oddly. The left click was broken and it was very annoying to use. The software is the worst part, the software would use 80% of my CPU sometimes, I updated it and everything but it would still use that much, so when am playing games, my CPU starts struggling and I have to turn the software off.
The mouse is beautifully made, with additional weights, an adjustable palm rest, and attachable sides for RH/LH configs. It has great software for both lighting and macros, which I actually find myself using a lot.
The one downside is the side buttons. They protrude out a bit too much, and actually dig into the side of my finger a little. If you use a claw-grip, you'll probably find no problems with it at all though.
I purchased this mouse as a replacement for a Rat 7 mouse thinking it is similar but this mouse is tiny as compared to the Rat 7. If the palm rest was movable any way other then up or down, it would be perfect. It should be further back. It has lots of features and good resolution. Software allows color change but the hardware will not let me change the color of the LED's, they are red and stay red no matter what the software is set to. Good attempt at a big boy mouse but still needs some refinements...
This mouse is very comfortable to use, and is great for resting your whole palm on. It comes with two optional 4.5g weights to add more, well, weight! The ability to select a unique colour for up to 7 different areas on the mouse, and to have different profiles linked to your games is something I find spending more and more time on (gotta get that perfect look). Some of the side buttons take some getting used to as far as hitting them quickly enough while gaming, but for slower games or general computer use are very handy. My last mouse was a Logitech G5, which although very old was the most comfortable mouse I have used. I am very pleased with the MX780 so far and I believe is a great transition for anyone who is concerned with comfort in a gaming mouse.
