5.0 out of 5 starsAbsolutely fantastic read.
Reviewed in Australia on 19 January 2017
I tried to avoid all the hype and clamour for these books. But I now realise what I have been missing. What an author! Such imagination! I have just finished the first in the series .....The philosophers stone, and could not put it down, and I cannot wait to start the next, Chamber of secrets. I was thrilled to find there is 6 or 7 in the series. These are not just for kids, I am past middle age, and was totally enthralled. Five stars is not enough praise!

the philosopher stone kept going back and fourth and some part weren't needed however i loved the quidditch and who knew that quirrel was voldermort. when reading this the one ofthe things that really bothered me was that dumbledore got no where near enough pages. still worth reading though.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for children who have not learned to love books

granddaughter enticed me to the first edition of H.Potter. She tests my enjoyment of the book with a list of trivia questions about events. potions, characters and places in the book. e.g what were the dragon eggs soaked in to make them hatch. what are Muggles people. if one is looking for child trivia games this is the book to start with. I am 79yrs and have read my first J.K Rowlings. it should be a memory test for us older folks there is so much to love and remember about Harry

5.0 out of 5 stars I watched the movies first and this was still an amazing read!

If you love the Harry Potter series this is a must read. You will discover many parts in the books that are not included in the movies. The story line, including Harry's thoughts, feelings, and experiences, are explained in much more detail giving the story much more depth.

Also, the book cover is very nice and has great artwork.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, Stunning, Beautiful collectors edition!

This is an amazing, stunning edition of the original books! It’s a brilliant piece of art with beautiful illustrations and elusive items, such as a large wonderful illustrated poster of the north side of diagonally and a beautiful slipcase with gold left ingravings onto a royal purple cloth canvas. It also came in a cool shopping box to protect it, which has a nice illustration of a golden snitch. Overall I think it’s amazing piece of art! 5 out of 5 Wands!

Loved the little kid and the lessons on boys and how they think and behave. Girls should read this as compulsory. They are hard wired to food and games. Rare to find a boy 13 to80 who does not obey this hard wiring. Good fun read though.

My 9 year old granddaughter watched the movies and loved them, we purchased the book set for her which she also enjoyed, we then purchased the first book on CD and she loves the voices that Stephen Fry creates for all of the characters and went to bed every night listening to it. We have now purchased the full set of books on CD which she eagerly awaits
