I haven't actually tried these yet in water due to the self-isolation and then the gyms closing. However, it seems to work fine. Got my music on to it really easily. I have an issue with the USB cable though. It seems to bot fit properly into the computer or a plug. I'm scared it'll break in my laptop when I try to remove it (takes a lot of force to get it out). I've contacted the company twice with no response. I don't want to send it back, I would just like to replace the cable (I've offered to send the whole thing or just the cable back). The first email was before companies started closing, so I'm not sure why they've not replied. Due to this, I wouldn't recommend it because if you do have a problem, will they reply to you?!
I was pretty excited to get this music player to swim with. I did a lot of research and cost comparisons and decided on this one. I noticed slight issues the first use swimming laps in the pool. The earbuds- if placed to deep in the ear canal like you would earplugs- don't convey much sound. The best sound comes from barely pushing them into your ears. But no big deal, user error. About the third swim [lap swimming mind you], the player began turning off and on intermittently. At first I thought maybe the battery was low or my goggle strap was hitting the buttons somehow. Those were not the case. Theres something wrong with the player because when it does work, I'll cycle through songs and the problem repeats for any variety of songs. The light turns off and the unit shuts down. This is very disappointing especially since I've only been able to use it a few times. I'm training for the swim portion of Military Officer Candidate School and this was really nice to use but apparently I'm out of my time window for a return or exchange.
I'm not the one to write reviews but this purchase has turned out so great I feel like I can really help other consumers.
I have brought and endless number of underwater mp3 players /headphone combos...this one has proven to be the best so far..the sound quality is great, the structure feels nice and solid. Not to mention they don't come out my ears or snowy let water in as I swim.
I swim 6 days a week from 40mins to an hour straight...so I know how much of difference a good mp3 player makes
What makes the purchase the most excellent...is the added swimming goggles..ive had over a dozen pair in the last year..my biggest problem with other pairs is the leakage of water into them and the fogging.. ..i was so impressed how I had neither problem with these...
In terms of value this is a can't miss at the price...
I'm updating my review because unfortunately the mp3 player stopped working , in less the 3 months. When it was working it was great
This was great for the first month I used this player. The battery really does last forever.I swim an hour a day 6/7 days a week and I think I charged it once. The issue I'm having is that now the sound quality has greatly declined. The volume doesnt seem to go as loud anymore and I can't figure out why. It could be the headphones. I would also be nice if the earbuds did not stick out so far, those of us who wear caps over our ears it ends up hurting so you really need to wear a cap that doesn't cover your ears with these which then leads to wetter hair. I really wish there was a way to get replacement headphones and not an entirely new player to see if that was the issue or not.
Sadly, I found this product a challenge to use properly. I tried everything suggested in the help documentation and video to get the ear buds to fit well including swapping them out, applying the provided ointment, and adjusting how they are attached to the googles. I tried all of these things multiple times just to make sure it wasn't just a bad experience on one occasion. They just didn't work for me and would consistently fall out while swimming after a few lengths. I'm going to have to buy another set of SwiMP3 which work really well, albeit without the same sound quality.
I swim about 60 laps twice a week. The swimbuds worked well for about 4.5 months. Then I started noticing a couple of issues. Occasionally, the same 2 songs repeated 3 times. Given the number of recordings I have, the likelihood of getting that repeat seems extremely low. I had to stop and press a button to get to a new song. Also a week ago sounds would stop and start in one ear bud. It got worse a week later. I could only hear sound when my head was facing to my side when I took a breath. I suspect the wire juncture near the main unit had been partially severed as a result of repeat breathing motions over the prior months. Turning the head causes the wire to be dragged in and out of the water with every breaht. That puts pressure on the wire joint. I contacted customer service and was given a credit of $10 toward the purchase of replacement buds. I opted to purchase a warranty with the new buds in case this problem arose again.
The 8GB SYRYN waterproof MP3 player is great. I have no issues with it. I was able to download music from my laptop and the MP3 player operates as expected. I have not had good luck with the Swimbuds, however. The first pair only lasted a few swims and one side kept cutting out during the swim so no stereo listening. The vendor was very quick to send me another pair of swimbuds which worked for a few swims but are now doing the same thing the first pair did. I'm only getting sound out of one earbud. So...now looking for some waterproof earbuds made for swimming where I can get stereo listening.
I really wanted to like this as I want to listen to audio books/podcasts while I swim. My first two swims were good once I got the earbuds in the right spots. However, on my 3rd swim using it, it played for 5 minutes and abruptly turned off without a low battery warning. I turned it on and it turned off after 20 seconds. Manual states 8 hours of listening time, but i got 1.5 hrs. Also, when I first charged it, the manual states a blinking light is charging and solid light is full, but the light kept blinking and never went solid. I suspect it is a bad battery and am returning it. Glad that Amazon has a good return policy.
Works ok for it's intended purpose. Sound quality isn't great, and ear buds fit and project sound oddly, but depending on how audio was recorded to track it can get pretty loud. Headphones and cord were white, not black like in photos, which isn't a deal breaker but I don't care for the white cords as they are more noticeable and make me look like I'm tangled up in cords. My big issue, and reason for writing this review, is my headphone jack connection broke after only a month. Now I can't use it. Disappointed to say the least.
