I have VERY thin hair, and I find this product adds volume but makes my hair very rigid. It does sort of remove the oil after two days without washing my hair, but I feel this is more suited to thicker hair types.
Recently chopped my mid-back length hair into a lob and found myself in need of new styling products now that I have to wear my hair down every day.
This is a silvery paste that liquifies upon contact (such as rubbing it between your fingers). As other reviewers noted, you only need the TINIEST amount so start with a sliver and add more if needed.
Pros: - The oil-absorption aspect is amazing. My hair gets greasy after just a day so this buys me an extra day without looking stringy. - I have almost black hair and the product vanishes completely into my hair with no gray cast. - It adds a lot of volume and texture when applied to the roots of the hair without any backcombing or teasing. A bonus in my opinion. - It's sold for a realistic price on Amazon. Most beauty products are hugely marked up on this site but this price is comparable to what it's sold for at beauty counters in the US. - It is easily transportable. I'm not a fan of aerosols and I like Oscar Blandi's Pronto dry shampoo shaker but it's messy and often makes my hair look gray.
Cons: - The container is small for the price (think a single serving of yogurt). I'm not too worried given how little I need to use though so it should last quite a while. - My hair absolutely feels like I have product in it. That is the #1 downside for me: my hair feels stiff and like there's pomade in it. Although it makes hair look clean, it eradicates the soft silkiness of clean hair. I made the mistake of applying it to the ends of my hair to give them some texture but it didn't do much and ended up making my whole head feel shellacked so I'm just going to stick to using this in my roots. - I needed to really shampoo my roots thoroughly to "de-gunk" them from this product. A clarifying shampoo seemed to work best.
This product definitely has a high rate of value for the money because you use so little product to get the job done. I bought this because I was intrigued by the idea of dry shampoo in a paste form instead of spray. I'm not crazy about the scent but I don't care that much about it either. To use this, I basically use the front of my nail to push a bit of product out (instead of scraping it and getting it under the nail) and then I rub the product out on my fingertips before flipping my hair over while bent over and running it through my roots. I find that it does help with the appearance of 'dirty' hair but I generally use this product more for its ability to stand your hair up at the root. After a couple days my hair tends to get more flat but this helps it lift more at the root so it looks fresh again for the day. I really only use this product on the last day that I'd go before washing my hair, because the product kind of leaves your hair feeling very stiff and dry. I don't really like the feeling so I do watch out not to get the product further than the roots of my hair. At this rate it looks like it will be years before I get through the container, which is good and makes me feel like the price I paid for the product was worth it.
This was probably the worst dry shampoo that ive ever used. And ive tried a lot. After all the great reviews i ordered it despite the hefty price. Wow how it was terrible. The paste was like a grainy little mixture that even after I rubbed it in just made my hair feel like sand was stuck in my scalp. It barely even helped refresh my hair, actually it looked like it was worse off than before because it was not absorbing any oil from my hair and ontop of that it now felt terrible. I ended up showering right after using it because I couldnt stand the feeling of it.
This product is great, or at least, way better than the other products I have used so far. The beauty of this one is that can keep my hair grease-free while holding it right. I wouldn't say it provides the 'strongest most efficient' hold, but, it definitely helps people like me with super thin hair that doesn't collaborate, even more with high humidity days.
I am about to buy it for the second time, the first one lasted for almost 4 months.
I ordered this because I saw someone raving about it online... But I probably should have listened to the other reviews. You can feel the product in your hair more than any other powder/aerosol dry shampoo I have ever used. It does add some volume like advertised, but probably because it makes your hair stiff and kind of crusty. My hair is quite fine and can be oily on days I don't wash it.... applying this made my hair look even more oily because it kind of clumps my hair together. Even after brushing/combing through the product, it still feels like there is a thick layer of product on my roots. It smells nice and is probably good value because you only need a small amount per application, but not good for fine hair.
I am soo soo pleased with this product, I found out about it from a beauty vlogger and am soo glad I spent the money on it. It is is a bit more money than I would like to spend on such a small container of product but am pleased with the results it gives me on 2nd and 3rd day hair or just to add after freshly washed hair to create more volume.
Not much to say about this paste other than I've tried 234897857 different brands and types of dry shampoo and this is by far THE BEST. It's a paste, so not a spray which makes it easier to travel with. Hair does feel a bit cakey towards the end of the day, but it LOOKS like it was just washed. Would highly recommend it.
