To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I am completely mobile. By choice, my wife and I are Full-Time RV'ers. I work in a very technical field. Both of us have "remote office" jobs, and mine frequently requires travel.
A NAS is the ultimate answer to many issues. *Mobile access to documents, movies, pictures, files? Check...I have it set up for a VPN (included) *A complete Media Storage and Streaming center? Check! It's got Plex, I have used Plex forever. My many Roku's and Chromecasts have Plex. Voila! There are also a plethora of other options (included). *"Sandbox"? Oh yeah! The QNAP "Container Station" allows me grab containers, run, create, archive, etc. The "Virtualization Station" allows me to easily run almost any VM I'd ever need! And there are other options. All included! *Networking? Ye gods yes! Needless to say we've got a pretty complex little network in our Global Oppression Palace and the NAS can handle all of it (INCLUDED!) *Plug-n-Play? I can plug almost anything into this beast and Ta-Da! Faster than an idiot can post something on Facebook, the NAS has it up and running, no hassle (included). *Easy to operate? (insert quip here) - Yes. Remote access, network access, Check! I've got it hooked to one of our TVs via HDMI and control it with a wireless keyboard (with touchpad). This has a beautiful, well-designed interface. All of the software and packages are routinely updated and maintained (some of the other reviews must be old, or the reviewers simply did not RTFM). Included! *Power conscious? Yes! We run on solar a lot and this thing sucks in almost no juice! *Powerful? Well, it's not meant to be a big-ass workstation. But it does have enough power to do what I want and do what I need (Transcoding included).
Other things? Quite a bit, but you get the hint. If a NAS is daunting to you? QNAP has made it easy. This is a quality piece of hardware with very good software and a very well designed system. I honestly have no real complaints!
