The right channel quit working and won't come back on . I only hear half the music. Tried to send email to Sony but they don't recognize the product number and I can't seem to get them any other way. Not my usual experience with Sony products, which I have purchase confidently for 40+ years. I only used them in the pool for gentle swimming and exercises. Followed all the instructions. I would like to get through to them to get a replacement or repair.
Loved it for the first month or so as it worked normally, but now when I plug it in, light comes on and it connects to charge and load songs, but when unmounted the light wont turn on, it wont power up. Very frustrating. This happened to me with the cheaper pyle neckbands too, but this item cost 3 times what those do, and didnt last as long!
The sound quality was good, but water went in the Walkman and it stopped working after a couple of months. Really disappointed for the price that it didn't work longer than that. It was also difficult to use, really to big for a woman’s head and going out of the ears all the time. I wrote to the seller because I couldn’t get a replacement (by Sony) without original bill even if it didn’t work for a year, but I never got an answer.
It's been seven months since I bought this and I can't hear musics from the right anymore. Yes. It does not work. It is out of order. In addition, my ears were very painful for the first 3 months. I think It takes some time to fit your ears.
This MP3 player/earbuds has some serious design flaws. When it works, it works well. It has good sound and now that I'm learning which button does what, it's good. But it does not come with clear instructions. It does not consistently turn on. The power on button seems to require an inordinate number of pushes and hold downs to get the thing to start. So if you were going to go for a run with someone or were training and had to go at a set time, you may not be able to get this to turn on when you would like it to and you'd be forced to go without sound. I find I have to sit down, breathe, and then push the button sometimes hundreds of times, holding it down, trying various combinations. I have no idea what the magic combination is, I just know that it seems to take me doing this to get it to turn on. It's kind of similar to shut it off as well only not as arduous a process.
It also does not audibly indicate when it the battery is low until it is about to shut itself off (a flashing amber light is not much good when the thing is strapped to your head). Twice now I have left for a walk and it said low battery, which means it's about to shut off. If this warning went off earlier, and if it had an obvious light warning on the device, then I could charge it before I go out. That's the other thing. It was connected to my laptop for hours yesterday. I then used it for about an hour. Now today it is shutting off due to low battery. It should have 11 hours left on it.
Another flaw is that the beep beeps to indicate a track change are rather unnecessarily loud, which hurts my ears, and there does not seem to be a consistent pause button for when you need to pause the music. Often people stop to talk with me and I have to take it out of my ears to hear them because I haven't found a button that pauses playback. Some buttons stop it for a second, but then it continues.
Also, there are too many buttons considering it's strapped to your head and you can't see them while you are operating it. Most of us are used to the elegant simplicity of an ipod ~ this lacks elegance and simplicity in every sense. It's chunky, clunky and ugly, but that doesn't really matter because you really don't see it. It's just that fewer buttons would be better when you aren't able to see them (while the device is on your head, which is when you can hear it ~ it's hard to hold it in your hands and try to get it to work because you can't hear what it's doing.)
I was initially going to return this because I couldn't get it to turn on. Now I'm considering returning it because when I need it to work, it shuts off due to low battery. Frustrating.
If someone can recommend another MP3 earbud player without bluetooth/wifi (I don't want wifi against my brain), please do.
My headphones came in May 9th and as of today, June 4th, they are dead. I am not quite sure what happened, I used them well within the intended use and followed the instructions provided with the headphones, but now they won't turn on or charge. I noticed something was wrong while swimming in them earlier today, where the headphones would automatically and randomly turn on and off. Eventually it stopped doing that and is now in its current dead state. The light on the headphones do not light up when I attempt to charge it or plug it into a computer, so I assume they will no longer work.
However, I found these headphones pretty useful while they worked. I wanted headphones that I could swim with and these seemed pretty decent price for a name brand and compared to other products in this category. I agree with what other people said about these not being the most comfortable headphones, but after a few uses, I got used to it. They are susceptible to slipping out of your ears when kicking off walls, but I found it useful to "shield" the headphones with my shoulders when kicking off walls so that they wouldn't be blown off. And, I found it helpful to put one side of the headphones under the strap of my goggles to ensure they wouldn't slip out too. As they were my first swimming headphones, I can't say if the sound was amazing or bad, but I was happy with what I heard underwater. They also do a great job of not letting any water into your ears. And file transfer was easy.
But now I am sad that they are dead, and hopefully the seller or Sony will respond quickly enough for me to get a replacement or refund, because I liked these headphones a lot until now.
