This switch is easy to manage using the Unifi controller. I purchased it to power Unifi Protect cameras as it has POE on all ports. As the switch sits in populated room it is nice and quiet due to the fanless passive cooling design.
The switch is of solid construction and well made. Do be aware that because of the passive cooling design, it does run quite warm when providing POE power out of more than three of its ports.
The build quality is excellent and it looks stylish a rack. I had a specific use for the switch which was to run my IoT devices, WiFi Speakers, Smart Lights, Smart TV's on their network seperate from my computer LAN. The supporting application make it easy to configure, with basic knowledge of VLAN's and networking required. (For the Newbies if you want to do VLAN's you need a router capable of doing VLAN tagging). The POE ports with 250 Watts of power supply my cloud key and UniFi WiFi access point effortlessly. Plenty of capacity for powering POE cameras if so desired. I wouldn't recommend this switch if you only need dumb switching.
I found the ubiguiti unifi gear some time ago when I was trying to find a solution for spotty wifi in my house. I tried lots of consumer grade stuff and it just didnt work. One unifi AP and my wifi has been stable since. Ive now expanded my unifi network to include the 150W switch and USG. Setup was easy and having the POE for my AP and future cameras is nice. One complaint is that the unit gets warm to touch and reports high CPU temperatures which I believe is normal. Having the unit mounted on its side reduces this temperature by over 10 degrees C.
Product is working fantastically in conjunction with two nano-hd access points and two non-poe 8 port unifi switches. Powers them with no issues. The sfp ports host two ubiquiti rj-45 adapters nicely, but it's important to note that these will ONLY operate at 1000Mb - you can't connect 100Mb gear to them (it just won't work). Fanless, which is why I bought this over the 16 port switch (it lives in a bedroom).
