Within the first use, the internal spring holding the (included) battery became weak. As a result, the battery would intermittently disconnect causing the light to go out, and then switch to another mode (blinking, brightness, etc). Incredibly irritating and bad internal components. Do not recommend
I had left my prior car flashlight in the car I traded in and wanted to replace it with one similar. I wanted one that was very bright and had both strobe and SOS flashing. Being able to focus the beam in tightly or keep it wide was another item I wanted. This fits the bill and does even more. Unlike my prior flashlight, this one comes in a neat little plastic case which holds the charger and battery as well as the flashlight. I have a compact car and thought it might not fit, but proved to fit perfectly in my Mini glove box. I don't know how many times over the years I have used the car flashlight but it is a lot. From searching for dropped keys under the seat, to arriving home without lights on making it tough to see the door knob, to using it to read a map or a book, well the uses were more than the emergency ones for which I purchased it. I would never own a car without having a decent flashlight. This one is more than decent. There was also room in the case for me to put several regular batteries. That way if when I need it the rechargeable one needs charging, I will be able to install those and have it function immediately. One of the things that bugged me about my old one was it was very difficult to move between the various light modes. It required a just so light touch and if you hit it too hard, it would just turn off rather than moving to the next mode. This one automatically moves to the next mode without having to guess how hard to push the button. You turn it on, then off and then immediately back on again and it goes to the next mode. Turn it off and then immediately back on and it cycles to the next one. This is way easier. I would definitely recommend this. I have not had time to check the battery life, but like most rechargeable batteries assume that how long it lasts is a function of how often it is used and how long it has been since you last charged it. Because this one will also run on regular batteries, that isn't a factor for me. Likewise I didn't test it for water proof. While I don't have any plans to drop it in a lake, should I drop it in a puddle and it lives I will be more than satisified.
I received my light two days ago it is bright enough for my needs it is not a bad light for the price I have not had it long enough to comment on the durability or battery life I did have a question regarding whether the battery came charged or not when I opened the package and read the instructions regarding charging the battery it said if the charger led did not change from green to red when charging try to reposition the battery unit the light turns red I did this to no avail I sent a email to the seller they sent back to pdf of the user manual I went to my shop and dug out my multimeter and the battery it tested ok the only thing I would say to the seller is that they should know their products better I think no has ever looked at or used the light I have 20 plus years quality assurance experience
I've owned many, many flashlights over the years, and this is one of the very best. Not only is it bright enough to light up a small canyon, the zoom feature allows for precision illumination when and where needed, with no bleed over. At a couple hundred feet or more.
The rechargeable battery seems to never die, and I've used and recharged it multiple times over the four years I've owned the light. (Thank you Amazon for the "Last purchased..." notation when I was looking for it to buy one for my wife.) The adapter handling 3 AAA batteries is an excellent alternative on the rare occasion when needed.
After about 3 years the button started sticking a little, taking several attempts to turn it on. Not sure why. But I pulled off the rubber cover and silicone-sprayed the switch and it's been working like a champ ever since.
I would buy it again and, in fact, AM buying it again. You can buy a less expensive flashlight...and again next month. And the month after that. Or you can purchase this superior lamp...it is money well-spent.
Very functional as a product. Comes with a very strong metal body. Extra battery options (AAA) from an insert body. At the right angle, it would break you out of a pinned car window situation. Focus slide frame is a nice feature. When at its "brightest", the filament is more obvious than the illumination target, no big deal, but It could be brighter. Doesn't quite the rated power of 10,000 but definitely good in the dark. This becomes a great glove box backup torch. Haven't tested waterproof claim; maybe in a future edit.
In fact, don't use the battery charger. the + - leads are BACKWARDS. Found this out after 18 hours of charging (it didn't) so I decided to check the voltage. THIS IS A FIRER HASARD at least, a battery killer at best. constantly trying to charge the battery, even if you reverse the leads will burn the battery out. Sending back before the house burns down.
This is a very nice flashlight. Comes with a rechargeable battery but will also run on disposables if needed. I did have a problem with my light malfunctioning, but i contacted the company and they shipped a replacement out right away no questions asked. It comes with a 1 yr warranty which is awesome. The light its self is really nice and bright and it is very durable. I use it everyday for work and mine has withstood water with no issues as well. Overall it was a very good purchase and i would for sure buy again if needed.
