Very compact and easy to set up. Works great with the Pi. I set my Pi Zero up with this (you need an adapter cable) to stream to the excellent Raspberry Pi Cam Web Interface, allowing me to watch clips of birds in my nest box that had set off the motion capture software.
Expensive for what it is, but is immediately compatible with the Raspberry Pi natively, and does give a decent video image output (better than the basic MK1). Install depends on whatever software you use. Would also recommend and extension ribbon cable, to make it easier to place away from a Pi enclosure box. Works, would recommend.
Raspberry Pi have great guides to get this camera up and running. The picture quality is brilliant. Don't expect it to be amazing in low light, but it's a flexible device, designed and suitable for maker projects where a camera is necessary or you want the results of the pictures to be used in your own code running on the Pi. Great for robotics!
This is an excellent quality camera for your Pi. This improved version is better than the last in terms of low light performance and overall quality (8MP vs 5MP). The stills from this are sharp and in perfect focus. The 1080p HD video is also excellent. The price is on the high side and almost as much as the Pi itself but devices with lenses will never be cheap.
Very VERY clear camera module, just a shame it doesn't come with a basic case / cover but then again, most will be used for some form of project built into something I guess - perhaps a little expensive for the resolution when compared to other webcams available
