Instead of this thing, you'd be better off buying magical crystals and a shaman to get rid of odors (sorry, I didn't mean to insult magical crystals and shamans that harshly). My guess is this thing cost around $2.00 to make, and that would be overpriced for retail. It moves air around like it's not even there, and in terms of removing particles and odors from rooms, not happening. Piece of junk, getting returned.
I don't think this thing is worth $5.00 in parts. It may as well advertise it produces magical invisible dragons. What a waste. Every time I look at this thing I feel violated, like I've been robbed. Not robbed like at gun point but robbed by a con man or woman. The effort involved in the attractive packaging and the design of the plastic case that the cheap electrical components are housed demonstrate a level of deception that had to have been orchestrated by a group of sinister individuals who's job is perpetrating fraud for financial gain. I've investigated the process of generating negative ions and yes this is a real thing and used in manufacturing electronics and the like. It's generally used to help eliminate static electricity. The components to build a device to generate negative ions are very very cheap. Investigate this for yourself. For $79 dollars you could build a device that you could watch clear smoke from a large enclosed area. Please donate your money to feed hungry people or provide shelter for the homeless or give your money to an animal shelter. Or just save your money. In short, don't buy into this elaborate con.
I have used this less than 2 months and it is failing. There was a loud wheezing sound. I unplugged it and used the brush to try to remove dust. It is not small enough to clean it thoroughly. I plugged it back in and it again is making that noise after one day!
The fan in it is so tiny and weak, it never did move much air. They give you a briush to clean the inside, but the grill is so small the brush doesn’t reach. After about 6 months, the fan just stopped working all together. A total waste of money.
I got one of these and it died in less than a month. Judging by the packaging it was a previous return. So I of course returned it. I thought I’d give it one more try, and had them send me another. So far so good with this one. EDIT: I have had to return this product 3 times because it keeps breaking within 1-3 months. It is a piece of junk, very cheaply made. When it works it is functional, but breaks like nothing doing. Absolutely NOT worth the price, not worth buying period! I went with a different negative ion generator. These are cheap junk, do not buy!
