The product is a nice small unit which can be easily moved and plugged in for use. But even though it was ordered to be delivered to Australia it only came with a US plug. I had to go out and buy a conversion travel plug to be able to use it here in Australia.
I ordered two of these, but had to get them delivered to my parents house in Texas (luckily I was visiting soon) because they do not ship to California. That is an inconvenience so the stars do reflect. I stayed at my parents house with my husband on a mini vacation for a week and gave them a test run there.
1. Definitely helped with the smell of smoke in the house. My parents are heavy cigarette smokers and chain smoke inside and after a couple days of having both ionizers running I could smell the difference when I walked into the house. It did no smell like an ashtray like before. I also noticed a lot of black residue covered both ionizer after having them on for a couple days. I guess that is a good thing and shows it is actually doing something...
I put one of the ionizers right next to the bed when I slept and I got a noticeably better sleep. It was literally about 8-12 inches away. Since coming back to California I do not have somewhere to place it as close while sleeping so I am not using it and I can feel the difference in my sleep quality.
Since being back home I have not noticed much change in the clarity of my air. It was much more noticeable at my parents house maybe because of the smoke...it could be that the air in my home was already pretty clean...also no more black residue.
One of the machines is located in the same room as my cats litter box (hoping it would assist in the smell) however, It has not made much difference in the litter box/kitty poop. It isn't terrible but I can still notice the smell the same way I had before the box. Overall, I think the box is very good to have close while sleeping and for cleaner air in a home with smokers.
I have only had this product for a couple of weeks but I have seen immediate results in my sinuses. I am no longer waking up unable to breath through my nose and with a sinus headache. Not completely cleared up but enough better that I know the products works. My problem is with the bright blue light that you can't turn off. Sleep experts all say you should sleep in a dark room. This product has an intense little blue light that is so bright it actually casts shadows on the wall. What a stupid feature. I put some painters tape over it but that is not enough to dim its intensity. I'm going to try duct tape tonight. My expectation is that the manufacturers would be aware of such things and market a better product. I will probably be purchasing another negative ion generator, but not this one, because of that light.
I ended up returning this in favor of a more powerful negative ionizer. I gave this almost three weeks to make a difference...first in my bedroom, and then in my small bathroom. I noted no difference in air quality whatsoever. The unit put out very little air flow, despite having a small fan within it. I have a tester for negative ions and it barely registered ions. I was sorely disappointed because I really wanted to like this unit, but for the high cost, it simply was not worth keeping.
Worked well I suppose until it didn’t. It quit after three months in my long haul truck. Now I’m back online looking to buy one from another company. I mean, these are expensive, 80 bucks. And for all I know none of them work long term no matter what company I buy from since everything is made in China these days.
It's advertised "for travel"- that means pack it in its box and you can't use it as a hockey puck. it lasted about 6 months continuous use and 50 days travelling. the sellor happily replaced it. next time it lasted 5 months nite-only use & 1 day travelling, sellor happily replaced it so we're on #3. For $80.00, advertised for travel, I HAVE BIG QUESTIONS. But the sellor has a good attitude. I think the unit is damaged by high leVels of PM 2.5- WHICH IS CRAZY SINCE PM2.5 is a main cause of air pollution. the unit collects "dust" inside and shuts down-dead.
Air smells fresh and it works well. However, there is a very high pitched whining noise coming from my unit. Not sure if it is defective. For the price, this noise issue should have been addressed by the makers.
