First look at this thing, putting it together, and I am not impressed. Trying to get even flow and bubbles in this thing is impossible. When the pump can only really mount to the long sides, and with the bubbler not really doing much, no matter how I place the pump and bubbler, at least one corner is basically stagnant. Add in that the water pump doesn't actually like to stay where I mount it, and needing to elevate the air pump, which then places it inside my warm tent, there's another couple demerits. So, I added a check valve so my air pump can sit on the floor outside my tent....nope. That basically reduces the airflow to about 1/3 of the airflow without the check valve. Ugh. I'm super annoyed right now that I didn't go with the aeroponic cloner.
Lose the water pump, add a stronger air pump, and add another airstone. This is a goofy design.
I think I'm just gonna box this thing up and sell it in the local classifieds.
UPDATE : I kept the unit, modded it a little, swapped out pumps and stones. And still, even with it functioning as it should now.....probably the most useless investment I have ever made in this game
I went from 95%+ success rate with peat or coco, to less than 10% with this thing. The few clones that do root, look like they are dead. Spotty, dying leaves, some bordering on rotten. The stalks are.....gooey, and the tops are shrivelled puckered looking.
And to top it all off, because of the low success rate and the style of my setup, my harvest cycle rotations are screwed and weeks out of whack now, and I still don't have enough usable clones to stock a single tent. Two of my tents have been sitting idle for weeks now. It's basically ruined all my last year's progress or so.
I have had the cloner for a little over a month now and EVERY clone that I have attempted to grow has died. I follow the directions and watched the video given..still nothing. PH is as recommended, water is tap as recommended, Clonex is used on cuttings..still nothing. I had to take the pump out it made the water too hot, now mind you I live in New England it is February and my houses temp is 68 degrees inside the tent is at about 72-75. I'm at a loss, very disappointed with my results. Maybe if anyone out there has any suggestions, I would love to hear. Thank you!
I am an avid plant lover, cultivator and connoisseur, I've never given a 1 star review before and it is to my extreme disappointment that I must for this oxyclone system. Having thoroughly read oxyclone reviews before my purchase I can't tell you how upset I am with this product. I have had 0% success over the last 6 months cloning with this system and it is 100% because oxyclone does not provide a humidity dome that will fit this product nor does anyone else! DO NOT BUY! THEY DO NOT SELL A HUMIDITY DOME TO FIT THIS PRODUCT! I've been producing clones successfully for years, HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO CLONE WITHOUT A HUMIDITY DOME. This company does not provide nor sell a humidity dome to fit their own product and they recommend you get one from the 'dollar store'. Search for a dome with the dimensions 10 x 13. They don't exist! Would happily return. WHAT A JOKE DON'T BUY!!!. @OXYCLONE
I have used it twice. All up for around 2 days. The airstone doesn't work. The air pump doesn't work. I had the unit for a month. They will not replace the pump unless you pay for shipping. They kept asking me to repeat my issue over 4 emails, like they couldnt scroll through and see why i initially contacted them.
The airstone doesn't work either! You will have to replace the pump and airstone within the first month and deal with horrible customer service!
The idea for this obviously works but the problem is the size of the tub. The motor that comes with this is to big for the size of the tub. Not a lot of water is in this thing even when filled to the top of the line. So the pump ends up heating the water up. Nothing will ever root with warm water. This tub needs to be twice as deep for it to work. Buyer Beware. Does not work.
Avoid - the pump isn't close to being strong enough for the provided airstone. After buying, I read that others complained about the same thing and ended up having to buy new pumps and even a second airstone. Wishing I saw that earlier. Considering this was $70, I'd say this is not a great product and you should avoid it unless you want to buy extra components after the fact.
I have tried to clone several different plants and the success rate was no better than any other method I have ever used. Of the 15 or so different cuttings only one produced roots. I’m continuing to experiment with suggested methods. If I experience any improvement I will update this review.
I have contacted the maker. After MANY tries this summer I have not had one successful clone. Have gone back to my old way which takes up a little more space but is 100% reliable, unlike this unit. Sad because I was really hoping this would save me time and space.
