System is great, that's why I paid extra for this bundle as a gift and when he tried to upload the brand new game onto system, it said it was not able to load. When he called Amazon, they said he the purchaser would have to call (its not mine, so why do I have to call) and he would have to call Microsoft and when he called Microsoft, they said it was a code that was already used on another system somewhere sometime...so he has a $60 game that is worthless - it was brand new through Amazon - or- so we thought! I don't have time to call or understand what the problem is, since I don't have the system at my house, it was a gift...
Looks great and runs great but the controller I got is junk and hasn't worked yet. Kinda upset but customer service has yet to help. You'd think after being an Xbox live member since 2006 they'd care more.
First I'll start with the good things. This Xbox is great. Really loving the 2 TB and the look is awesome. It plays great for the most part, it did crash on me once though.
The bad thing is the controller that came with the console. This controller looks so awesome, but it's just annoying. Right out of the box the X button was sticky. I thought maybe by playing a bit it would loosen up but no luck. Everytime I play Siege I sometimes die because my reload button is stuck in... That's not the worst though. The right analog started messing up on me about a few weeks ago. When I'm not touching the controller my aim will be slowly spinning. I guess the controller is registering that the analog is being pushed although nothing is pushing it. This is incredibly annoying when playing games where precise aiming is extremely relied upon, like Rainbow Six Siege. I stopped using this controller, and started using my other because of this issue only to find that the other was so much worse. I haven't had this console and controllers maybe two months, and it's not like these controllers are cheap either.
I hope Microsoft knows about this issue and is working on a solution since controllers are essential to playing. I will update my review if anything changes or I receive any communication from the manufacturer.
have had this specific consoke for about a month came home from work today and it flat out isn't working now it now will attempt to start up and almost emidiatly go to a error screen... in the process of trying to fix it right now however this should not be happening this consoke was not cheap and I would have expected it to last much longer than a little over a month. I understand that this is not something that happens with all of these systems but still sucks how it didn't even make it very long.
Not as fast as hoped. Controller is cheaper than expected for it being "redesigned". Takes a long time to turn on the controller. Very bright light that's right in the direction of your face. The response of the Xbox home button on the controller is ridiculous and you have to press it very hard. Unlike PS4 where you are able to dim the light and no way you can tell who is player 1-4. The sync button is harder to get to and there is only one USB port on the front. Also since this is the gears of war edition I guess they left out the rechargeable battery and charging cable that comes with other bundles. Also the eject button is so hideously placed looks like a bright red nipple... ha. On top of all this they made a new "chime" noise specific for gears and I don't know if my internal speaker for the "chime" is broken but it sounds so distorted and crappy. Why can't I have an option to switch to the old chime? The last problem I have is that now since the power supply is inside the casing for the console, the Kinect needs its own power supply. Although it is advertised as a converter wire. Which is another 40$. Only bought this for Xbox exclusives so I guess that's what I get.
