Probably the coolest Limited Edition Xbox One that was sold in America. Only by looking at it, you can tell it is special. The Gears of War red really makes it stand out. There's also "damage" simulation on the console like deep scratches. But what really makes it special, are the sounds. When turning on and off the console, you can hear a scream or some rhythm playing. It comes with a stand (sold separately on regular console) and matching controller. There's scratches on the controller too! Otherwise, it has all the same features than the regular Xbox One S. Sadly, the lack of games and variety is disappointing to me.
Cool looking Xbox1 and controller. Graphics are actually molded into the unit and controller for a true 3D look and feel. Custom sounds too. The sounds could have been better in my opinion but are from the game so fans of the game may think they're fine. With the price of $410 new and the Xbox X on pre-order for $499 already I would opt for the 'X' and get the most powerful console produced if you don't mind waiting until November.
The HD size of 2TB is nice but I've got a Western Digital 5TB external on my older xbox that works great and cost less than $100 so adding extra space is easy and economical compared to buying a larger HD on the xbox itself.
As for the game. I'm not very impressed but got it for the co-op so I'll still play it through. The graphics are fine but the game play is very generic. If I was more interested in the story and multiple cut scenes it would have probably helped, but they didn't draw me in at all. I played the multi-player beta and thought it was awful so I haven't even bothered with it.
An odd timed release, between a planned upgrade, Project Scorpio. Faster, Slimmer, and in your face RED. Looks a lot nicer than the glossy Gears of War 3 Xbox 360, and has a laser engraved plastic shell. The controller has never failed on me, even though my friends have dropped it quite a bit more than I would appreciate. Overall a good fit for any Gears fan, but not the most economical choice in an Xbox ONE console: for those looking to just be able to pick up an Xbox to play; a different model may better fit the need.
The reason for the 4 stars it's because I got this console on the release date at gamestop and the content of the console was different. it had more gear related papers including a gear pack. What makes me think this is not a brand new console, But a re-package one. it's in perfect conditions only thing that also let me wondering some dust on the vertical stand.
Mine stop working and had to use the warranty I had with gamestop witch they refuse to honor and end up making me get the xbox one x instead. i have most of the limited edition products related to the console but the elit controller. so I had to get it back.
Well, after my purchase of the Xbox one's I am now aware as to why the Xbox 360, and one don't sell so well. That is one of the most retarded design decisions for a video game console. Not everyone on planet earth has the internet.
