The product works great. The only problem is , that if you bought 10 of these things, five of them would break. I'm talking about the white plastic guide bars breaking. A few of the screws stripped the plastic when I tried to tighten them. I'm using them to hold up my 75 inch TV so they seem to work pretty good. Get a couple of extra because fifty percent of them break. The ones that don't break work pretty good. They need to improve on their quality control.
Tried using the Toggler Snaptoggle on a commercial office building drywall. The snaptoggle did not work at all I destroyed 3 snaptoggles trying to get them to work. The snaptoggle will not work on drywalls that are styrofoam insulated because the styrofoam insulation will not allow the toggle to unfold against the interior wall. Rendering the Toggler Snaptoggle completely useless on drywalls that have interior insulation.
Also the Toggler Snaptoggle came packaged with no installation instructions. Logged in to youtube to obtain basic installation instructions.
Product seem usefull on very limited applications.
Bought 12 units. Installed 3 of them & could not get the screw to start & the units all broke from pushing too hard. Tried to run the screw thru all of them before pushing the unit into the wall. 3 of them I had a very hard time starting the screw but could eventually to go thru, ( try the screw from the back side ) One unit I had to re-tap the metal piece. When the screw will thread into the metal they are GREAT!
I am trying to use this to mount my TV Wall Mount nut once I got the metal piece inside and pulled the plastic piece towards the wall, it started to rip off and sent the metal piece into the wall cavity. I tried it again with another piece and was careful when pulling it and it did not rip off then, but it did rip off when I tried to screw the bolt in. I may have gotten a bad batch but I would advise to double check before using it.
Out of 12 pack i got 4 to hold and work. The plastic breaks off quite easily causing the anchor to fall behind the wall rendering it useless and having to waste another one. I would like to see the plastic made stronger and require to use scissors or a razor blade to cut the plastic flush with the wall instead of its current design where its snaps with just a little bending with your hands.
As another reviewer mentioned, they need better quality control. These work great when they are intact. Out of the 12 pack, 9 worked fine but the other three either stripped or the anchor itself split. The 9 that were functional were very easy to install, but I needed 12 so I have to order another pack. Always order a few extra!
I used these to install grab rails in a shower. They worked very well in some cases; in others, I was unable to properly thread the bolt into the screw hole. I believe that the problem was that the shower had a cement base to the tile that was uneven in places. As a result, the toggle did not sit flat and the screw hole was impossible to thread. I you are using these in drywall, hardiboard, or other flat surfaces, they should work very well.
