Having had a Nikon D40 for years, this is an excellent upgrade for me. I use my cameras for sporting action. This one takes two shots in a section. It is also good for low light and has an extended SIO to allow more light into the lens.
I bought this to take to New York on a family trip and the quality of the camera is fantastic. Easy to use straight out of the box, the battery lasts for ages, in fact I still haven't charged it since the trip 4 weeks ago, the battery is still almost full. Picture quality is fantastic and its easy to move to video mode and record.
Great camera, easy to set up, nice easy set up for the iPhone app as well, transfer of photos on the app is simple too. Bought as a present for my wife and she simply loves it. Was delivered very quickly and great customer service too.
This camera was my buy of the year and I’m sooooo pleased with it. It arrived on time and was well packaged so no complaints there. I could hardly wait to get the battery charged and get using it. The battery took just less than an hour to get a full charge which I was more than happy with. It contained all the things the advert had stated it would have and everything was in great condition. The camera itself fits great in my hand and is very comfortable to use. I can reach all functions without a problem and yes it’s designed to be that way but not all cameras feel comfortable when using them and this one certainly does. This was an upgrade for me from my 10yr old slr and I am well impressed. The quality is outstanding and the ease of using the manual function is great and easy to get to grips with and is making my experience with photography much better. Because it is so easy to use I am much more confident with taking pictures in scenes that the automatic section just isn’t great enough and I would whole heartedly recommend. It has additional setting which can change your pictures 100% for the better and it’s great fun experimenting. I mostly take pictures outside in the mountains, on the beach but I’ve also used it for company events indoor and outdoor and the results are great and everyone is impressed either pictures. Would highly recommend
So it's not quite fake apparently but it is what is known as gray Market. If you Google Nikon and gray market it tells you they aren't genuine and very often as with this don't contain the warrenty card, the software is probably fake too. Amazon have been very good and are refunding but I strongly advise against buying from here unless you have read up on gray market and are fully aware of what you're actually buying. There is currently some great offers on official nikon dealer sites which for the extra £30 is worth it being genuine.
Bought this for the Mrs just under £310 directly from Amazon. Was out of stock at the time but was delivered 6 weeks on. Game with the Nikon warranty card which some others said was missing. The camera is solid and quite easy to use but has a lot of functions. No complaints here
It's a perfect investment that will suit beginners to intermediate photographers. I have used it for two years and its seen me through a lot, I've upgraded my lens to a 35mm 1.8/f because kit lenses are pretty trash. But i didn't know that when I bought it and the kit lens suited me for the first year or so, now I never use it. I have not wanted an upgrade on this camera body in all that time despite improving a lot. So I think its a perfect balance of price and quality because there's no use buying a super cheap camera for £150 and then wanting an upgrade in a year which will cost £300 - total of £250 spent over two years. When you could just spend £350 or so at the start and that camera will be enough for 3+ years
Quite good low light photography but you need to know how to use the settings, photos will never look good on Auto, it's a waste of everyone's time. Just learn manual and your game will step up so much.
Colours are beautiful, I tend to use Vivid mode as a default, but again you need to be on manual to get full use of the colours. Not great for video because the autofocus is loud and inaccurate, constantly visibly readjusting. If you are good at manual focus then you can record video and I like the colours - they're a lot better than a mirrorless camera. There is no external mic input but you can record your own sound separately to put over a video so that wasn't an issue for me.
Snapbridge (bluetooth function) is great and helps me to post photos to social media from my phone while I'm out.
