So far so good. I'm not an experienced music player listener, I've only previously had a couple of Apple Shuffles over the past 10 years or so. Of course. Apple stopped producing Shuffle so, when my previous model broke, I looked for an alternative which was equally portable but maybe better sound quality. This appeared to fit the bill. This device seems nicely constructed; fairly small and solid feeling. The sound is clearly superior to Shuffle and repays having a good set of earphones. I didn't find the User Interface very intuitive but I'm 60+ and not a gadget person. I put a 128Gb Samsung Evo+ in this and dragged 10,000 tracks on here in a mixture of AAC (mostly) and ALAC- no problem. In summary- nice size and feel; very usable on walks; sound is good but UI could be better. I hope it lasts as long as my previous Shuffles did (about 5 years each). After a few months use this device has become unusable. Firstly, it started switching off intermittently whilst I was walking and this got worse to the point where it switches off 3 or 4 times per track. Added to which, the headphone connection has developed a problem (for both sets of headphones I have which work fine with my PC and TV) - I have to exert pressure on the jack into the hole in order to get any sound. To get any music now, I have to hold the device in my hand pressing the jack into the hole and keep re-switching the on switch; in effect it is useless..
Arrived in time and intact. It's a great sounding, tiny lossless music player. I bought a 200 GB memory card to pair it with. Really easy to conect to my laptop and drag and drop the WAV files I had created by ripping the bulk of my cd collection.I did a bit of you tube research before selecting this little digital player.screen is big enough to use to navigate through tracks and disply album art good enough for me, paid just over a £100 for the player , am well pleased feels like great value . just loving being able to access all my tunes easily and create my own play lists on the fly is fun, supports gapless playback and when paired with the hiby phone app and decent speakers or headphones a joy to listen too.
Loved the small compact size.I was looking for something small not anything near the size of my phone.Hiby is very good app.Control tracks from phone. As my phone doesn't have a port for headphones the sound from the AP60II is great. You can even listen to tracks from online audio from phone to DAC.Volume level is very good there is lot more than is needed but if you like to listen to something loud this will do it.There is also gain option. There is no lag in UI.This device is idea if you have no jack for headphones on phone.Save battery and space.Connect to you car audio or PC.Or as a stand alone audio solution with a decent amp and speaker as your home stereo.Box doesn't come with buds but to get the best your best getting a decent set of headphones anyway. There no sd card but a nice case protector was included and also screen protector for back and back. The body of the device feels nice and solid. The screen is good.Recommended..
The AP60 is pretty good sounding, there's just a little warmth to the timbre giving music a nice neutral tone. The screen is low Res, but ok, the buttons clicky but passable and even the layout of everything is fairly well thought out. But the fact that after taking out the charge cable, it fails to recognise any music files saying they are unsupported and then having too reset all the settings to get it to work again just makes the whole thing pointless. After every reset it loses any Bluetooth settings you had saved requiring you to re pair any headphones you had saved. Pointless, just pointless.
Follow up: HIDIZS have contacted me with some suggestions for the problem I'm having, so I'll respond here. They think it may be a problem with the audio file types I'm trying to play, that is causing the AP60 to say it's unsupported, well unfortunately that's not the case, the files work absolutely fine until I charge the battery and when I unplug the charger it all goes wrong. They also recommend I download the latest firmware, version 1.18 beta, which is what came pre installed on the unit when it was purchased, and as a side note, products really shouldn't be shipping with beta firmware, by definition, beta means not fully tested, and will probably come with bugs, which indeed this unit does. I applaud HIDIZS for responding to me, but the problem seems to sit with the unit and not with my usage of it.
Opened the package from Amazon and was impressed with the packaging. Very upmarket. Took at the player and it is small. A good size and felt very well made. As others have said the operating system is a bit clunky and it is unusual now not to have a touchscreen operation. Despite some initial issues the seller has been really helpful and attentive and as such I now feel able to give this 4 stars. Having lived with it for a few months I love the compact size of it and the sound quality is really good.
This is a very handy little gadget which works surprisingly well. The sound quality is very good but I have improved it by plugging in a Cyrus Soundkey (this does mean using wired headphones though). The operation is very easy but occasionally the "arrow" buttons are not as positive as they could be. It has no problem pairing with various bluetooth ear plugs/headphones/speakers and plays various audio format files without problem. Connection to the computer to copy across audio files is simple but I wish I had bought a 256gb card instead of a 128gb as i have managed to fill it up quite quickly (mainly as a result of using quite a few hi res FLAC files instead of mp3. The size of the unit is ideal for easy operation and for portability. All in all, I have been very satisfied with this product so far and hope it will continue to give good service.
UPDATE: The "up" navigation button has stopped working and the manufacturer says that it has been notified of this problem by others users - doesn't say much for its reliability - shame that I have to return it as it is a nice player with good sound.
Once you have down loaded a free FLAC file converter from an American website onto your computer, you can then commence burning your CD collection onto the memory card. I purchased a 200 gb Sanddisc for around £50 and can store most of my CD collection. This is at least 350 CDs. I've been duplicating my FLAC music files onto an old buffalo storage device. I then will load them up onto my brothers HIDIZS AP60 II (in blue) as a gift. The build quality and sound quality is excellent. My wife had bought me a good quality set of headphones last Christmas and the Bluetooth works so well. Now for the negatives - the device is not touch screen, you have to master menus by button. It takes a while to get used to this. Also your playlists have limited search engines - when loading up my CDs I ensure that I input the artist, CD title and song title - as these appear to be the only parameters you can set up. It does have 'my favorite' (it is incorrectly spelt on the menu) and 'recently played' playlists which are fairly useful. Finally, the battery power lasts about 6 to 8 hours before needing a recharge - not a problem for me, but could be annoying if you were back packing across New Zealand. In summary, the positives easily out weigh the negatives. I have enjoyed using this product over the last six months and I would recommend buying it.
I was very sceptical about buying something like this at this price. But this is far better than the players I have purchased before. Ie when loading more albums onto it, it puts them in alphabetical order. You can make a play list. But the only down fall is you can only make a play list by track only and not by, unless you put all the tracks in to make up the album. But this is a fantastic piece of kit. Recommend to anyone if you are serious about sound quality. Would definitely buy again
Having needed a new mp3 player I looked around for a player that suited my needs and came across this little beauty. The HIDIZS AP60 seemed to do everything I needed it to do it`s so easy to operate and loading songs is a doddle perfect. I can easily recommend this player ,good value well made and it looks good sound quality is superb.
