Considerably better than I expected

A friend of mine warned me about getting these, as well as pretty much anything from Razer. But as of right now, these headphones have impressed me.
The build quality feels pretty robust but still flexible. I've had a pretty bad history with headphones breaking at the notorious Headphone cup joint, so it's good to see Razer, like only a couple other brands, are putting out affordable headphones that incorporate fully metal joints. These do go a bit further than that though, with an entire metal bracket than the cup "sits" into.
The sound quality of the drivers is definitely enhanced by my high-end sound card, but they absolutely keep up. Powerful bass, clean mids and crisp highs, never had them blow out. Using their app, Razer Synapse, you can also get some pretty impressive simulated surround sound. I will say however, I found turning off all the enhancements, then just giving a slight raise to the low and high frequencies gave the best sound for me personally.
The retractable mic is also surprisingly good, no complaints of popping/distortion/lacking clarity or even blowout if I accidentally breathe into it, it also has an in-line mute which at this point should be standard for any kind of gaming headset but is not always there, so that's a plus at least for me.
The cable is a good length for my desktop with the adapter and the single jack connection works fine for both my phone and laptop, so it's pretty versatile and I'm happy with it.
To sum up, the Razen Kraken Pro V2 are impressive in this rising age of USB gaming headsets, with a really reasonable price.
