I just finished trying this. I worked at it and it was exhausting, more than just doing it by hand. And the tongs pick up so little after a lot of effort. And, you can’t see how much is left and where it is. Someone suggested attaching a mirror. I may try it again where the segos are because I can’t get a ladder there, but other than that I’d just say “no” to this. I did see an extension shovel I may try. Get on the ladder and just shovel about ten feet at a time towards you. Sounds better.
When you need to clear some debris from your roof, but can't climb a ladder, this thing is great. Using an extension pole, that I already had, I can clean leaf and tree litter from my gutters. I have gutter guards, but debris still collects in the corners and in roof valleys. I can easily reach the debris and remove it, as well as small limbs without ever leaving the ground. It takes a few minutes to get used to using it, but from then on, this is a very helpful tool!
This is *NOT* the most efficient way of removing leaves. However, I have some unusual eaves that are very difficult to reach with a ladder, and this is the only effective way of getting them out without renting a cherry picker and spending $$$. Be prepared to spend a long time and get gutter crap raining down on you. Also, holding the pole up can be tiring on the arms after a while. But it beats climbing up to dangerous heights.
This product works as described. However, the part you attached extension poles to is so small, non of my extension poles fit. However, I do have two small painter poles that did fit but the poles are not long enough to reach most of my gutters. I can clean out one side of the house though so at least I don't have to use a ladder on that side of the house.
Works well. Pulled out a lot of gunk from gutters. Gets around gutter support bars well. Needed to attach extra string for second floor gutters. Put a lot of pressure on it without breaking plastic or fishing line.
The head you put in the gutter is too wide, sometimes it stick inside my gutter while I try to pick up leaves. It is still good tool to stay ground n clean a little of gutter, because I am afraid of the height over the roof.
