To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I've had this book for a few days, I'm not much of a cook and total newbie to Vegan diet. The book is well illustrated and has excellent instructions. Although I'm not much of a cook, I do have a degree in Chemistry; anyone could follow these instructions to make the dish I reckon.
The excellent pictures of every dish in the book are very helpful. The author's cheery manner also helps, its obvious she loves cooking. I don't so I need a bit of extra encouragement haha
I have many recipe books from my pre vegan and vegan collection and this book is my absolute favourite. I’m never normally inclined to leave reviews but because I’ve never had so many successful meals from the same recipe book, I felt moved to comment. My family aren’t vegan but the meals taken from Sam’s recipes have been so consistently lovely that they are much happier about being pretty much vegan at home. Her blog It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken is also excellent.
I've been following Sam's blog for ages so was looking forward to the book. Really great and the same simple yet effective style as the blog. Particular favourites are the Bolognese and nacho cheese sauce. One note of caution: when baking, if using a celcius fan oven, I'd convert to c first and then reduce by 20 so that cakes etc don't burn.
Many things are missed by vegans... my friends often say to me "I'd go vegan, if I could find a way to continue having certain things I love that require eggs, butter, milk, cheese... " Fear not, would-be vegans who fear missing out on your favourite treats!! From chocolate chip cookies to nacho cheese, this book is full of veganly creative ways of adjusting your diet so that your all-time faves don't clash with your ethical ideas of veganism and protection of animals!! Yum! And also, Wow! Got it only a few days ago, but have already jumped right in, and I recommend you do the same!
I absolutely love this book... Sam is such a genuine person and I read every word (unusual in a recipe no, I normally just get to the food). I love the layout, the photos, the fridge freezer, cupboard and equipment guides. The recipes are amazing looking, and not any weird or gross ingredients... I tried the pancakes (first recipe) and they were awesome, I've never made pancakes that work, ever! I intend to make at least one recipe per chapter, in order per week... Exciting 😁 thanks Sam, the book, blog and youtube combo have made me love cooking again. 😁
I love this book through and through. it just makes vegan food you want to eat literally so accessible and tasty. I umm-ed and ahh-ed for a while due to the price, but having now invested, it's worth every penny. And that is what it is, an investment. The recipes are solid and they always turn out just right. Highly recommended.
