I purchased this powerline adapter in the hopes of finding a suitable alternative to the 20m long ethernet cable running through my dining room. Unfortunately, the adapter topped out at 120mbps, with both adapters plugged directly into power sockets like the instructions suggest, and settled at around 100mbps. Hence, I will be returning the adapter as it does not live up to the claimed "up to 1000mbps", instead barely delivering a tenth of that speed.
I had a pair of TP-Link AV600 powerline adapters but they constantly dropped out. These are much more stable with no drop outs. Although they are marked as AV1000 and therefore in theory they are faster than the TP Link units I can't detect much if any speed improvement. However, the fact that they have been rock solid is a massive benefit for me. Worth paying a little extra for as my network is now super reliable.
Cheap and cheerful but they do the job straight out of the box. Bought as a replacement for a pair of Technomate adapters, one of which had died. Those had nearly doubled in price so I took a punt on these and they work just fine. These are compatible with the remaining Technomate (if physically a little larger) so I now have a spare or an additional wired connection - Bonus!
Purchased these to replace a pair of TP-Link AV600 adapters as I wanted a bit more speed through to my gaming pc.
Pros: -very easy to install -good speed for the price
Cons: -doesn’t work when plugged into an extension lead, unlike my TP-Link set which did and worked perfectly -the adapters are bulky compared to other brands and may struggle to fit next to other bulky plugs when plugged into sockets
Wanted this to boost WiFi signal across from router connected to PC at front of bungalow to kitchen at rear to use my android tablet. Very disappointed as it just slowed down connection to husband's PC and and still couldn't connect satisfactorily to tablet, so disconnected it and speed now back to being great on PC. It didn't resolve weak signal through bungalow, but rather seemed to slow it down.
